Reservoir Of Questions

JP with Omni, Bandorchu, and Lucian

Voah squinted through the labored blinks of her tired, bludgeoned eyes and rose unsteadily to her feet, wincing at the aches and pains; one hand to her wounded neck. Scattered parts of her neck, shoulder, and chest had turned a bluish black from frostbite.

“I simply asked the hour. It looks like you could do with some sleep.”

Voah walked up slowly to Alexis, attempting to scan the wall in the dim light.

“What is that?”

“It is daybreak.”
Alexis answered quietly. She looked at the depictions that had filled her days and nights to a point that she felt it wouldn’t take much more and she could recreate them from memory alone.

“History. Of the gods of the Ozainae. That the Ozainae seem to try very hard to forget.”

Voah was stunned by the revelation, not expecting an answer so deep, especially on the topic of foreign deities. She was overwhelmed by the flood of questions filling up behind the dam that was her mouth.

She took a big breath and let it out slow.

“…Not sure I want to know how… or why you know that…”

She shook her head.

“Who am I kidding? Of course I want to know just what in the name of Zin is going on here... I want to know everything… why the two of you are in Gra’akast, who is that girl, and why Islana is in the temple…”

She temporarily gave up on trying to make sense of the whole confusing chain of events that had led up to this.

“…but you clearly need to rest first. Then we will talk.”

Voah let Alexis rest and turned her attention to the severely injured Gonyaul. Kneeling over him. She kissed his bandaged head and felt the heat of his fever. That was concerning but she had nothing to help lower his temperature.

Tarmen stood nearby pulling deep breaths between coughs.

Voah put a gentle hand on his shoulder.

“Hey.”
