Chapter 1 Pt 2

8 hours later, they were cruising up the private road that led to their home, it would have been sooner but they had to drag David out of the bathroom stall he had passed out in and pay off the people at the airport so they would let him fly.
The Kings Ranch. the largest ranch in the US. the land spread as far as the eye could see in both directions. Raineys heart swelled. there was nothing like the feeling of being here. they passed the white mansion that was the house the tour guides showed and told people they lived in and kept going till they came to the smaller home a few miles back. it was still a giant home and far more space than they needed but it was smaller than the mansion and felt homier. less like the president lived there.

as the car pulled into the drive and stopped and they all piled out and trudged their way inside. " I'm going to shower and go to bed" Rainey informed everyone as she mounted the stairs. " i told you we should have just stayed in a motel and came home tomorrow." Marley said tossing her bag by the door and flopping over on their large couch. " Not in Canada...i hate fucking Canada" David slurred as he slumped down in a recliner. Amelia frowned at er then popped him in the back of the head " you go take a shower too and sleep it off" he glared up at her " I'm not tired, you can't just send me to my room. I'm grown" she smacked him in the head again " I don't care if you are tired i don't want to look at you. go" with a grumble he made his way the same direction as Rainey.
Kate sighed as she set hers and her mother's bags down. "I'll make us some tea. Lavander or Camomile?" she asked as she pressed a little button on the wall that summoned the housekeeper "lavender." her mother answered sitting in the place David had originally occupied " I don't know what's wrong with him." she complained but mostly talking to herself " Hes spoiled" Kate said as she filled a tea pot. " And never sober" Marley added from her spot on the couch. as the tea finished Kate poured her mother a cup and handed it to her then mad herself one. she walked to the couch and smacked Marley's boots off of the seat before sitting down. " Where is mine?" Marley asked, " make your own".
her mother rubbed her head flipping through her emails and txt on her phone. " Lots to do. We leave and the whole place falls apart." Kate nodded "we will start first ting in the morning, we should all get some rest." Amelia nodded and stood she kissed Marley on the forehead and patted Kate before retiring to her room. after a while Kate and Marley did as well leaving the house empty with nothing but the sound of the housekeeper as she unpacked their bags and started washing the clothes, they had taken with them.
