Chapter 2 Pt 1

Rayne had been ridding looking for the cow and her calf all day she hadn't found them in any of the woods or the fields and in a last-ditch effort had gone up the mouton. sometimes it really astounded her how much land her family owned. her legs and butt were sore, she was sweating and squinting into the sun had made her head hurt. she almost missed it. that's when she came up on it, the horse. she staired at him for a good two seconds before sliding down off her own to walk to him. he was tied but with no rider in sight. "Hey buddy...where's your person?" she asked looking around. "Hey!" she yelled looking around thinking maybe she missed them " hey this is private property you can be here!" she yelled looking around. she was worried maybe the rider had stopped to rest and been drug off by a mouton lion or coyotes or something. "Hey man where are you? you ok?" she yelled again stroking the horse's neck.

the girls rode into the barn hot and tired and covered in dust. they washed most of it off in the hose before climbing into the truck to head back up to the house. when they got there it was full of cars and people and their mother standing on the porch talking to them looking uncomfortable. Kate hurried out of the truck and next to her side. Marley close behind her. "Hey mom we having a party?" she asked with a comforting smile. her mother already visibly relaxing with the support of her daughters next to her. Marley squinted at the men. "No these are just visitors. " Amilea answered and introduced them in turn. "Gentlemen these are two of my girls, where is Rainey?" she asked "looking for a mom and calf." Kate answered staring the men down.
