Jay's eyes narrowed, and he turned away with Whitewolf, heading out of the room.
Seymour wasn't sure if he'd ask Cass or not, although in the end: Jay and the hamster didn't even make as far as the door before what few lights there were in the massive room failed completely and momentarily plunged them all into a dizzying darkness, which was split seconds later by electricity arcing across the ceiling high above them, and the hologrid suddenly sputtering back to life to display Cassandra, looming massively above them
"Jay" she boomed, her lips moving slightly out of sync with her voice as it thundered from the speakers "Drive room now. Slingshot us around out of the atmosphere. Thrust back online in five... four..."
Momentarily taken aback at what the bloody woman had just done while supposedly being locked safely out of harm's way, Jay quickly comprehended her and turned to sprint from the room
"Three... two... one... Ignition"
The whole ship suddenly shuddered as the engines lit and redlined at maximum thrust, the superstructure creaking and groaning beneath the stresses of the planets gravitational pull while Cass inexpertly tried nudging the Dwarf around into one of the recommended telemetries highlighted on the monitors in front of her
"No!" Jay yelled as he burst into the drive room and took in the spiraling view of the planet on the monitors "Smegging stop that!"
He vaulted over a comms desk to slide in behind a navigation console and quickly punched a range of telemetries up on the main screens, his eyes expertly scanning and identifying the information he needed as his fingers automatically danced across the controls with long practiced ease, gently caressing the Dwarf out of its death roll
"Hold on!" he yelled across the ships intercom "This is going to ..."
The rest of his words were lost to the shuddering shriek and groan of the tortured ship as it ponderously responded to his commands and howled through the planet's upper atmosphere with black smoke billowing from its hull, alarms blaring across the ship as system after system failed, the monitors in the drive room lighting red across the board
Jay eyes narrowed as they drank in the wealth of telemetry information on the screens in front of him, his mind curiously exultant as he executed a few instinctive course adjustments, the battered Dwarf all too slowly responding to his lightning quick commands
"Come on..." he snarled as the massive ship slowly righted itself "Come on... Yes!"
He punched the air in triumph as the Dwarf finally pulled out of its dive and began accelerating away out of the gravity well, back out into space
"Oh yes!" he yelled, flushed with adrenaline, his eyes alive and bright
"Smegging yes..." he repeated, the buzz of living high on the edge suddenly fading as he caught sight of Cassandra looming large on several of the monitors
"Well done" she nodded curtly before adding "We should park in a stable orbit and assess the damage to the ship; maybe we can trade with the locals for spares?"
"Bitch" Jay's lip curled bitterly as she cut the feed before he was able to do so himself

<tag>The Dwarf's knackered, but on a positive note: We're in orbit around a planet full of male starved, triple breasted blondes who may be willing to trade with us - what kind of payment will they demand, and how are we going to destroy their planet in under a week and avoid causing a paradox?</tag>
