Inconspicuous

Anubis looked at his kebabs and suddenly lost his appetite. Thinking about Evelina always made him tremble and cry so he pushed the button on his chest to activate his Jackal helmet. Then Anubis waited for Hasina to arrive.

Hasina & Anubis

"Have you heard anything from home?" Hasina asked as she sat near him. Her helmet was down, as it was most of the time. She knew she was safe from anything going on, as her alternate was male. Anubis on the other hand, looked much like Jaxx. Probably in a very similar way to how Alex looked like Twalex.

That was a very good name for him

"Not since our friends arrived." Anubis replied.

They spoke in a kind of code. Anyone overhearing would think they were just talking about friendly visitors, or letters from home. The palace they were living in was kind of purpose-built as a place for the high-ranking nobles and Ra to live whilethe pyramid was constructed. A Pyramid for the ritual that would get them endless water.

"We need to get a message back to them. The Captain needs to know that we have spoken to several friends, and we need somewheter for them to stay." Hasina said. "Have you spoken to anyone else?"

"Yes." Anubis replied. "Though talking to yourself is considered a sign of madness, I found Evelina."

"I can't stay here for long." Hasina said, truthfully. She had to look after the others.
"Can you get a signal out to Seymour? The Light-Beacon should be clear now." She asked, hoping he would be able to get to the beacon, and send a message out to the Captain. There was no knowing how many of their alternates were here, captive or otherwise...

"Of course." Jaxx replied.

"Are you ok?" Hasina asked. "It must be hard to see her again." She'd been nearby at the time, but unable to help.

"Yeah." Anubis replied, solemnly "Hard, but good. Maybe I'll get to say goodbye to her this time, when they leave."

"You will." Hasina said, putting a hand on his arm. "We'll do it right. If you see Noble Alexander, or Jaaday outside during the feast" she added, very quietly so only he would hear, "It's them. We've taken their identities to infiltrate the palace. Detain them as best you can."

Jamie, Jade & Alex

You know you two look far too comfortable with this, right? Jamie said inwardly, wondering what their response would be if he'd actually said it. Jade was all over Alex, doing a very good job of deflecting suspicion. Yes, Alex wasn't quite as muscular as their Noble Alexander, but at least they acted the part.

Other Nobles had begun their walk to the Palace for the feast. Camels had been left not too far away, but they weren't allowed within a radius of the Palace itself, in case they crapped on the fancy carpets (No joke).

"I wonder what everyone else is like.." Jamie mused.

"What do you mean?" Alex asked.

"Our alternates. You two are total smegheads here, and I'm a woman..." He said, making it sound so much more normal than it was. "I mean, what if Seymour wasn't a coward, or.. something..." He said, trailing off at the thought...
