"What happened in the 40 mins countdown?"

This is going back a bit in the storyline
On the Warship Blue Dwarf
After the bomb had been set
 
"Death Wish!"  Lloyd shouted to the suicidal security officer.  "Take the others and go!"While the remaining other of the team Death Wish merely replied sternly.  "No!"Penny blinked in surprise. "Go!"  she yelled and then groaned as the wound in her chest sent shocks of pain through her body."I go back without you Harris will kill me!"  Death Wish said, fearing for his own life for once."But that's what you want."  Lloyd said as the taste of blood began to build up in her mouth. She spat it out and some seemed to dribble down her chin, she didn't look good."To die quickly but Harris will make it slow, either we go together or not at all!"  Death Wish told Lloyd. He seemed to have more courage than Penny had ever seen in him. Deathwish knelt down at the body of Sam Young, he was already dead- his eyes staring lifelessly into oblivion.
Penny stumbled towards him, Deathwish caught her before she fell."I won't make it."  Lloyd said losing all feeling in her legs."Then we die together."  Death Wish said. He dragged Lloyd into a corner of the corner of the trashed engineering. Bodies littered the floor, five of the suicide squad were laying lifelessly on the ground, next to their dead foes. They had all died by putting up a good fught, Lloyd the superior Security officer felt proud that they had given their lives to let the rest of the away-team get away.
 
The two security officers looked out of the window, they saw the Blue Dwarf Starbugs flee the scene, at least they had got away.
Death wish looked at the bomb strapped to the far wall, the countdown was down to 25 minutes.
 
Suddenly there was a commotion outside the door, Deathwish quickly stood up and Penny slowly turned her head, every movement seemed a challenge to her.
The door, which had previously been baracaded by a dead Warship Blue Dwarf crewman was flung open and another member of the suicide squad who had been unfortunate to get to the Starbugs in time was thrown inside the room, he landed on the body of the former Assistant flight controler Sam Young, and tried to get up. But the one-and-a-half-foot dagger in his back seemed to pin him down.
 
The Evil Captain Harris barged through the door, not caring what she stood on- it was a good job she didn't care as she had just stepped on the leeking brain fluids of an officer.
 
"What have you done?!!" she demanded, and looked at the bomb which was set to explode in 17 minutes. "Most of my officers have been gassed, some have been shot, and SOMEBODY ATE MY KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN!!!"
 
Death wish wiped his lips nervously and Penny managed a grim smile.
"Theres nothing you can do" smiled Death wish, indicating the bomb. If you tamper with it it will blow up."
 
Harris scowled at the shorter man, who didn't seem to be afraid of him. She tugged her long-dagger from the dead officer's back on the floor, it slid out making a satisfying scraping noise as it passed against his backbone. She swung it around, hoping to catch the suicidal security officer in the gut. It was always satisfying to cut someones lower belly, and watch them try to run away as their intestines spill out of them.
They always ended up tripping over their own juicy organs as they tried to flee.
 
Deathwish didn't flinch, this caught Harris offguard as she expected him to do something to defend himself- instead he simply stood there.
Harris smiled to herself, it he wanted to die easily, it would be easier for her.
She put the sword above her head, ready to bring it down on his skull, splitting it like a melon.
 
Instead she kept it there, for a split second, fear could be seen in her eyes. A split second later, Deathwish realised what had happened.
 
The beam of energy that had struck her from behind cut through her chest, striking the wall above Penny Lloyd. The female Harris shreiked in pain as her chest quickly turned black and disintigrated from the inside out. The gaping hole in her body grew bigger and she crumpled into a pile of limbs on the floor. Her blackened sleleton breaking on impact.
 
The firer of the energy weapon was Kieran Loes, the Blue Dwarf's Chief pilot. He was layed flat on the floor, lifting his head to smile at the two remaining security officers. Then he flopped his head forward and didn't move again.
 
Deathwish sat down with Penny Lloyd again and waited for the timer to count down to zero.
Penny felt the blood leaking from her body, everytthing was going black, she remained still but felt like she was moving, not physically in this dimension, but maybe spiritually into another dimension.
 
The bomb clicked onto zero and the bomb exploded. Igniting the huge engines and fuel tanks, soon the rest of the ship caught fire and shattered into a billion pieces. Being dragged by the force of gravity to the planet the Warship had been in close proximity to.
