Return of the sun

(OOC – Yes, that’s all right. As long as the gap between the different characters timeline doesn’t get to big.

I’m sorry I haven’t been so quick at posting, but I have had so many thing to do these last couple of days…)

Just as Gareth were about to begin the “feast”, someone pulled the chain to his collar, almost hard enough to pull him off the chair. “Not so fast” a deep voice added, coming from a tall demon who had been sitting at table nearby only minutes ago, but was now right next to Sabina and Gareths table, holding on to the chain around Gareths neck. Taken by surprise Sabina was left speechless while watching how Gareth struggled to keep his balance on the chair as the demon kept the chain tight, preventing Gareth in getting back to his food. “We don’t allow people to dine with their slaves here” the demon said with a growl and pulled Gareth to his feet by pulling the chain “He has to be locked up in the stable”. “I.. I didn’t know that, sir” she said, trying to pretend not to be frightened and failed miserably at it. The demon looked at her with a mean grin “Well, now you know, Miss”. He was clearly mocking her educated way of speaking as he handed over Gareths chain to one of the others he’d been drinking with earlier and ordered him to take this slave to the table.

Sabina could only watch, trying to hide her sadness and fear, as Gareth was dragged outside. Even though the demon had now returned to his table he had reminded her of how dangerously it could be to be travelling on your own here in Dalen, particularly if you were a woman. There was nothing she could do to protect Gareth from being treated like that and now she might even have revealed herself as being an easy target for bullies like that demon.

Quickly she finished her dinner and went to her room. She let out a silent sigh as she locked the door behind her. Before long she was ready to sleep and just as she closed her eyes she reminded herself to be more careful in the future.

The next morning all she could think of was to get away from this terrible inn, but not before she had made some kind of plan of where to go next. As she was eating her breakfast she looked at a map of the city, trying to determine where the best place to look for a mage with the skills she needed might be.

Artem slowly started to wake up, still feeling a bit tired because of the lack of sleep. As he stretched himself out on the bed he suddenly noticed something. Winifred was gone. He quickly got out of the bed and wasn’t surprised to find himself in an empty room either. Without even noticing the cloak she’d left behind he rushed out the room, hoping to find her before she’d left the inn. To his great surprise, and embarrassment, the first person he found in the hallway happened to be the woman he had been looking for. “Hey.. Uhm… Good morning, Miss. Did you have a good night’s sleep?” he said with a smile, while trying to act casual, though with his ruffled clothes and hair pointing in all directions it was easy to tell that he’d just rushed out of bed.
