Bloodshed III

JP between Winteroak, Omni, Alexis, Jaxx, Lucian and Bandorchu

Nicolaus ignored her and followed back towards the beach. "It looks like I have some business on the beach Alexis. "Despite everything, Alexis lips twitched into a half smile. “Very well. Let’s do this.”

Arrows fell in the sand near the feet of the Arbiter and her one legged enemy though, lucky for her, none had met their mark. She was done with this island. From the corner of her eye she saw two of her companions running toward the source of the arrows.

She momentarily allowed her mind to reach out from the combat to feel the Gods at her back. Waves lapped at her feet, the wind surrounded her. She took the mighty inhalation of life’s breath and gripped her sword tightly. It always made her smile when a witch realized their magik had somehow failed them against the will of the Pillars. The redcap snarled in confusion, anger, and perhaps fear. The Arbiter struck again and the redcap blocked the blow, but it was so hard that it forced him to lose his grip.

‘Good. Gods be with me and banish you demon.’ she thought in relief. She wouldn’t admit it but there was something she liked about disarming her enemy just before ending them. She pressed her lips to the flat of her gleaming blade, then with tears of joy in her eyes she struck the redcap’s head from of its shoulders.

When she knew the redcap was dead she turned to find her companions and hobbled through the sand toward them. She didn’t make it even half way before dizziness of fever, blood loss, and exhaustion took her and her knees gave out. The Arbiter collapsed unconscious on the beach of Sentinel Island.

Nicolaus broke off as the other two charged the natives and headed for the Arbiter. He saw her last blow decapitate the dust devil creature and as the head fell away she stumbled forward a few steps and collapsed in the sand. He sprinted to the fallen warrior's side, quickly looked her over, then scooped her up and trotted heavily into the shallows. Voah's arm swung loosely, still gripping her sword.

Hands eagerly pulled her over the side of the boat and into safety. After hoisting her in, Nicolaus grabbed the edge of the boat and fought to catch his breath. He turned his head to the beach, searching for the others.

As the body of the dust devil creature tumbled to the ground the natives that were pelting the boat and the party with arrows paused looking at the scene. A loud roaring sound echoed across the bay. A strange sound not of rolling waves but like the sound of a wildfire spreading through a forest.

The natives took one last look at the scene and the two warriors rushing them and after firing a few more arrows in their direction of Alexis and Tarmen, quickly retreated among the jungle to the weird sound echoing across the cove.

Seeing the natives flee left Tarmen hollow. He was glad the fighting was over, but after the beatdown given by the imp, he wanted blood.
The roar that enveloped them drew out his own, a howl of rage and frustration. His gaze fell on the fallen demon and he figured what better trophy. Grabbing its head, he stumbled to the boat to leave this island from hell.

Nicolaus head whipped up at the roaring sound and he rushed to the shoreline to assist the other rapidly into the boat.

As the natives flee, Alexis decided to give them a parting present and threw the found throwing knife after the closest of them before turning around to reconvene with the others at the boat.

As the exhausted and wounded party collapsed in a heap around the small boat and the sailors rowed them away from the island and back into The Hogue as fast as humanly possible, a dark robed figure watched them from the ancient shipwreck...
