A night to remember

The evening, so far, had been very pleasant.
Alexis was just as interested in learning a bit more of the people and their language as Da’aar was about the outsiders, so their conversation turned out to be quite fruitful despite the language barriers.

Nevertheless, she stayed alert. The more suspicious looking tribe members remembered her effectively that this was still a delicate situation. The Ashen Hooves were very hospitable to her group of complete strangers as it were. The mercenary was very grateful to have been travelling with people as open minded and communicative as her friends for this encounter, or this might have turned out very differently.
Subtly watching over them she could tell they were all enjoying themselves and mingling in their own ways.

She had to admit, though, getting a proposal of sorts did catch her off guard. Things like that, for the better or the worse, were clearly handled very differently among the tribes than they were among Alexis’ people.

A little flustered she tried her best to communicate that she was very flattered - even though baffled would have been the more apt description - but that she had her group to worry about and could not consider that offer. She could only hope she managed not to insult them in the process.
