Arrival At The Meeting

JP with Lucian, Redsword and Cindy

May 12, 1889
Evening

"Did you get it?"

Socrates Staniadis looked at the woman he had just knelt to. "Yes, Omilitís tis Alítheias (Spirtual Leader) Antinea."

"Show me." The woman ordered.

Staniadis immediately went to his desk, he fumbled a bit with his key ring of several keys, but found a small silver looking one and unlocked a bottom draw with it. He then carefully revealed a wooden box, it was plain, nothing special about it. He slowly opened the box as of the contents might break by being exposed to air.

"Eínai ypérocho." (It is magnificent.) She exclaimed, in awe of what her dark eyes were gazing upon. "Put it back. I am not ready to let everyone see this, not yet."

Staniadis did just that, putting the wonder away as carefully as he had taken it.

"Very good," Antinea said. "Let us get ready, the meeting will be soon. Help me put on my robes."

The two left Staniadis' office for Antinea's where the woman would prepare to lead the believers and, more importantly, attempt to impress an Arundan.

Vor prepared for the meeting slowly, both to compose himself for it and in a vain attempt to hold off the inevitable. Who knew what these people considered a gathering.
He hadn’t seen Sung much at all, a fact that did raise some worry in the back of his mind, though through a combination of continuing to help in the kitchen and having trust in the man’s abilities he stowed these feelings away.
His knives were of little comfort, but were hidden on his person either way. Based on his first impressions, these lunatics would not stop on a simple wound. Death would be abundant if things went south.

No matter his troubles or doubts, he would make sure that Vor remained on the ship and that only Ritikios attended the meeting with his trusted servant.

Waking back into the room Sung did not say much. As Sung got ready he looked to be thinking deeply. After his change of clothing and picked up a leather bag it was long and the top was folded over and tied. was and placed it on the bed.

"Don't forget our plan if things go wrong. We will have backup outside nearby. It should be team members. So just get outside." explained Sung in a calm almost military tone. "I also have the opinion that we don't have to dress too down but like best Sunday clothing." further explained Sung. "Do you feel ready for this Vor?" Asked Sung with a confident smile.

Vor nodded, feeling hopeful hearing that the team would be there. As for being ready…

“As ready as I can be. First time performing to such an enthusiastic crowd.”

His half hearted smile was as genuine as he could be, already steeling his nerves for what was to come.

“Are we ready then?”

Slipping into character "Yes my lord" replied Sung with a slight smile of sarcasm trying to be funny and lighten the stress. "Don't worry I will be there with you the whole time. I think this time if I hit someone they won't get up not for a while," added Sung.

This time Vor went with the jest, his grin growing.

“You’ve read my mind. Violence is unbecoming of me, but seeing them be properly punished would be a sight I could stomach.”

Sung paused he tried to not sound like a killer or a murderer. "I have killed a lot, in my darker times killing a few more won't matter," Sung stated sounding cold with little emotion. "I will probably go to hell anyway. So just live the killing to me Vor," said Sung now walking toward the door.

Walking to the children of the sea location and the building they were in the day before. Sung was watching for anything that could be out of place. A thousand scenarios went through his mind thinking about everything Sung saw in the building. All the security, guards and how to get past them. After a few minutes, he could not help that he was being watched again but far away. this mission had a spectator.

Sung would just act like he was oblivious to the world as Sung walked. Sung said nothing much just small talk with Vor if Vor said anything. 30 minutes later Sung and Vor were on the street they needed to be they could see the building halfway down the street. "Vor they are here," Sung said quietly referring to their team.

Looking around he could since the presence of the team and others Sung took a deep breath and let it out slowly. They reached the building. Looking at the two guards by the door. Sung stopped to let Vor go first.

The two guards, bowed to Vor and opened the door. As they did this other members of the Children, stood back a little from Vor and Sung. If Vor turned to look at them, they bowed. No one would move towards the door until Vor had enough time to get down the stairs.

Sung followed Vor semi closely. Sung had his ornate leather bag slung over his shoulder with the strap. Keeping an eye on everything. he wears his John Bull or coachman-style hat in black a little down in the front to hide his face some. Sung knows where he needs to be as Vor's assistant and bodyguard. and takes that position. Something Sung knew too well no matter the country he was in.

Hanging back some so people can greet Vor and socialize with him. Stay back in the shadows if possible. unless someone recognized them Sung sensed no danger so far.

No one approached Vor, they seemed to in awe of the Arundan to do so. It was almost as if the people felt unworthy to socialize with him.

That was until Staniadis came running over to Vor, practically ignoring Sung. He bowed to the Arundan. "My Lord, Sir. Please if you wish I can escort you downstairs to the temple. We have your robes ready."

Ritikios looked to the man with a perplexed expression, like he was deciding if he should allow it or feel insulted by being stopped. He gestured to allow the man to lead, but kept his irritation noticeable.

Staniadis looked nervous at the expression Ritikios gave him, as if thought the Arundan might be able to strike him with lightning.

Staniadis led the two, the one he considered to be God like and the Arundan's assistant, down the stairs. This time there was no need for a lantern as the stairs and the hallway was lit.

Also no need for secret codes as the temple door was open. Going into the temple. It looked almost the same. The room was fairly empty, a few members were there, making sure things were perfect. Everyone turned and bowed to Vor, in unison upon seeing him. In front of the room was now a stage, that hadn't been there before. The stage was wooden, dressed in a white fabric stage curtain.

On top if the stage held a podium turned altar. It was the same one that had been there yesterday. Now draped on either side were long blue clothes that practically reached the floor. The golden symbol still in the front, and the half woman-half octopus statuette, was in the center near the front of the altar.

Off to one side, lined with the altar, was an elaborate looking chair. That was noticeably the only chair in the room.
