Talk with a Dr. about a Dr. (Part 4)

"The Greeks and Romans believed carrots to be a 'love medicine' that could be something. If the doctor believes in wives tales that is." Sasha interjected.

Sung smiled at Sasha. "I don't think scientists believe in such things unless proven true. But I am not a scientist so I can not say for certain" commented Sung.

"Well, Lamaire apparently stole the Arundan artifact because he believes it holds magical properties that he can somehow access. So there is no telling what the man believes." Elizabeth interjected.

"Ah, yes the Arundan artifact this does just get better and better does it not," remarked Sung.

"That's also a consideration." Sasha said. "I only say this to suggest that when you have time, and I will offer my help, to look at the ingredients from a less of an analytical stand point and more from an illogical standpoint. Wives tales and myths about those ingredients. Intelligent minds doesn't always result in smart people." Sasha added.

Dr. Jackal listened to the input of the others as he thought about the need to steal the Arundan artifact. The logic was not sound for a man of science to steal something with little scientific value......unless...... Then Dr. Jackal asked, "This Arundan Artifact, can you describe it to me?"

"It is the Visage of Nimue. A small statue of the face of Nimue, otherwise known as The Lady of The Lake. Do you know anything of the history of the Arunda, Doctor?" Elizabeth inquired.

Dr. Jackal smirked as he shook his head no. Then he replied, "From a scientific point of view it would only be an art piece, however while doing my own research into the demon blood crystal I found that some historical pieces contain a history, story or even a map on them for the next generation to use. However sometimes that information is lost due to major events, deaths, wars and such. If this statue contained a hidden item or piece of knowledge that Dr. Lemaire was interested in, then it would make sense why he stole it. Sadly we can not confirm this with mere debate. We would need to see the real artifact or at least a well made copy or picture to begin to confirm this theory. Not to mention we would also need a translator for the language used so it would be a big undertaking if you wish to pursue this route." Dr. Jackal shrugged as pondered it a bit more.

"Nimue was in charge of the Arunda when King Arthur first discovered them. At the time they were a secluded race off the coast of Greece. When a bad storm hit the island they fled and ended up in Greece, at first then they migrated to various parts of Europe. Nimue is a great historical figure of theirs. The statue supposedly had an inscription on the bottom of it, which would likely be in Greek. There used to be a religious group that basically thought the Arundan artifacts held magical properties. They believed if one said the words from the inscription one could gain the answer to any question. If the dust of the Visage was put into serums or potions it could render them more powerful." Elizabeth realized that information, for scientific purposes, might be of little use. She thought for a moment and then added,"The Visage is made out of coral, if that matters."
