Mouse Gymnastics

Underground Mutant Community - Wyoming

Perrine stood just outside the room in the underground medical wing, his deep eyes focused on the delicate gymnastics of his small mouse friend, Peekaboo. She darted gracefully over his moving hands, her tiny paws finding footholds in his fingers as she weaved through his intricate obstacle course. Her nimble maneuvers were a testament to her trust in Perrine, and the two had formed an unspoken bond through these playful games.

As he continued to amuse Peekaboo, Perrine couldn't help but cast an observant glance towards the interactions between Johnathan and Khunara. Johnathan had once been Perrine's Teaching Assistant during his undergraduate years at the University of Idaho in the computer science department. The passage of time had added longer hair to Johnathan’s head and to his face, from when he last saw him.

Khunara, on the other hand, was a new sight; as were most down below now. She was a figure of curiosity to Perrine, who, thanks to his unique ability to understand animals, often noticed the subtle nuances of human interactions. To his keen senses, it was clear that there was an attraction between Johnathan and Khunara, though it played out in a way that spoke of shyness or perhaps the tentativeness of a newly formed connection.

Seeing them nearing, Perrine stood up straight and hid Peekaboo in his jacket pocket again. He squeaked something to her and prepared for a reunion with his friend.
