Jaxx lowered his head in shame as he walked to his room with Evelina.

"Uuuhm," began Ransom.

"I really don't know," said South, reading the questions in Ransom's mind. The interdimensional traveller had crossed the very boundaries that divide our universes but Ransom had never encountered anything like life in the Dwarf.

"So," Ransom said, trying to focus on the sane things... like discussing the demands of sentient vermin. "Is there anything specific you'd want?"

"Are you qualified to do this?" South whispered in Ransom's ear.

Ransom swatted him away, "Are you?"

"We want the gardens," said the thin, weasely voice of the rat-like creature.

"Gardens?"

"The ship has a garden," explained Jay, "Produces oxygen."

"Oh!" Ransom exclaimed excitedly. "I like gardens," he said turning to South, "Especially Silver Keelying Trees."

"There's no such thing," South said with a shake of his head.

"Aww."

Cass coughed, realigning the conversation on its proper course.

"The gardens are kind of already occupied," Jay said to the rats, "The Huzzards do live there."

"We only require a small area, and tools to farm," the rat explained. Despite his hostile stance and intimidating state, the tone of his voice and the look in his eyes betrayed him. "Food, we need food."

"It doesn't sound that hard," Dr. South shrugged.

"We could go find the tools," suggested Ransom, "Might give us a good excuse to explore the ship."

"I, of course, will be leading the expedition," South proclaimed.

"As long as you don't crash," Ransom said with a smirk.

"You're still no better!"
