Lament

Erik could only look on in horror after being thrown to the ground, the events happening so quickly he had no chance to act.
Seeing Tiella dead brought a trauma long buried rushing to his mind, another ray of light in this world, snuffed by machinations beyond their control.
Giving no word to the others, he blindly stumbled away from the camp, unable to think where he was going or what he would do.
The grief that Balar felt, Erik could now nothing of. He couldn’t remember his family and he had never had anyone close. This group was the closest he had ever been to having friends or family.
Gazing into the void above him, he gave a sorrowful howl that echoed his grief for miles.

Kespin had been away from the camp, busily studying his journal and trying to block out Dyvia’s painful labor.
When he realized there was no end to the cries, he journeyed back to the camp in time to see Tiella’s death.
In witnessing this, he merely sat on the ground and brought his journal out again.
