Where Does This Conversation Go?

Justin: Well my tastes vary depending on my mood. Sometime I like Techno since it has a good dance beat, but I am also keen to Rock, Jazz, Pop Rock, Funk, Country, Rhythm and Blues. I try not to limit myself since there is so much out there to enjoy. What can I say....I love music, fashion, food and art. There are so many beautiful things in the world to enjoy so its hard to settle on one thing. I feel if I do I will loose my creative edge. How about you Kyle? What your cup of tea?

"I like a variety of things as well, food, art, and fashion are definitely up there but my first love is film. It's not just about making my own films but also about really enjoying other people's films. I love the idea of looking through life, whether that be real or fictional, through the lens of a camera. My second is music, performing but also writing my own pieces. I guess it's mostly about things that bring more meaning and beauty to life. Even if that meaning might be interpreted a million different ways." Kyle paused as if thinking. "You know we have some really good artists at the school. The art show, in the spring, seems to all draw them out of the woodwork."

He walked a little bit and then stopped and looked over the water. "I'd like to see some of your designs sometime, if you want to show them to me, that is." He meant that. He was curious about what kind of things Justin created. "So, do you know about the local art galleries?"

Justin was rather pleased with the direction of this conversation as she looked at Kyle with a sly smile. He was glad to see that Kyle was a well rounded kind of guy with a passion for culture and art. If it didn't work out he could still see himself being friends with Kyle. Then he replied to Kyle.

Justin: Well here in Cali the Paul Getty Center in Los Angeles county Museum of Art is a large public art gallery with paintings, sculptures and the decorative arts from the Americas and round the world. It has a good collection of 20th century art, including works by Picasso, Braque, Matisse, Miro, and the German Expressionists.

The San Diego Museum of Art is a public art gallery of particular note for its collection of Italian Renaissance art and Spanish masters. Includes masterpieces by Giotto, Fra Angelico, El Greco, Goya, Rubens, Monet, Matisse and many more great masters. Don't get me wrong, I do like modern art as well, but the classics are still amazing. As for my work I can send you a link to my website and you can check it out if you are really interested.

Justin then paused for a moment as he looked at Kyle and then around as he realized they was alone and out of sight for the most part. Then he looked at Kyle with a sly smile.

Justin: Looks like we walked quite a bit.......or was that part of your plan?

Kyle, was also, glad the conversation was going well. And he too, could see him being friends with Justin, even if nothing else came of it. It was good to know.

"I've been to the Paul Getty several times." He was into art, after all, and from Los Angeles, so, it made sense. "They have some great exhibits there." He then added. "Have you gone to any of the smaller galleries, the ones that are in town? " He wasn't talking museum but the local art galleries that had smaller more local work, usually but not always, for sale.

It wasn't until Justin mentioned they had walked a bit; that Kyle looked around and realized they were out of sight and hearing of anyone unless that person really tried to come here. It was a darker area and secluded. "Well," He let a smile slowly form on his lips. "It wasn't intentional but I'd be lying if I said I minded it. " He paused. "We seem to be out of sight and hearing of anyone. I suppose we could take this opportunity to discuss other things. Only if you want." He meant things that wouldn't be, perhaps, discussed in front of others, like how out they are, things like that. "I'm mean you are welcome to ask me something if you want." There were things that they needed to know about each other before they went any further with any possibilities.
