Shoot

Thomas put on some sweats and a tee shirt and a sweatshirt and quietly made his way out of the room. He wanted to give JD a chance to sleep in If he wanted. He wanted to see if he could get some time on the gymnastic equipment. If he could practice and keep out of any real trouble, he could have a shot at Jr’s next year.

When he got to the doors to the gym, he found them locked. That meant afternoon or evening work outs. He hated that, it meant he would be twitchy all day with energy that he could not burn off then when he needed to focus on school work he would work out then be tired. Didn’t they understand??

As he walked around the front he saw some of the older girls tumbling as he looked through the window. For the first time even in gymnastics he felt like an outsider.
He saw Jack running on the track, so he stretched a little then tried to run with Jack.

Thomas soon realized that Jack was built for running, his long legs eating up distance to Thomas’ shorter strides not so much. So he moved out and slowed his pace but kept himself moving. He thought Jack and JD would be good workout partners for each other.
