Battle joined

JP between Lucian, Jaxx, Omni, Bandorchu, Winteroak and Strangetides

Confusion reigned on the beach. The smoke and fire from Till's beacon grew larger and larger. The dust devil creature after retreating for a few minutes came back with a vengeance aiming directly at Nicolaus and Hunter's crawling figure.

Alexis finally arrived at the scene, just to find pandemonium.

“What the hell…!”

She exclaimed loudly in her surprise.

Hunter was completely oblivious to his surroundings as he continued to slowly crawl towards his beloved in his dream.

With no answer and now two injured partners, Tarmen weighed his options. The beacon was lit, so the boat should be coming. They were surrounded and had just faced only ONE imp.
Catching its movement out of the corner of his eye, Tarmen figured he could try and kill it. Didn’t look like they had much chance of leaving anyhow. He charged the creature, slashing towards its midriff before it reached the others.

Nicolaus was reaching for supplies in his satchel when heard a voice cry out and whirled to see the approaching red capped menace. Standing between it and the hunter he raised a globe up with his left hand while his right hand fell behind his side holding a scalpel hidden. He saw Tarmen rushing in from behind and yelled to cover his approach and capture its attention. He waved the upraised globe "I have something for you! Come see!"

Before the dust devil could reach Hunter and the apothecary, Tarmen slashed at it only to have it turning back into the shape of a man and parry his machete with a similar weapon. The two traded heavy blows, Tarmen surprised as the creature could maintain fighting balance on just one leg.

Every time Tarmen thought he would score a killing blow, the creature would turn back into a dust devil only to reshape into a man a few heartbeats later to drive his crude blade at the man from Kru'll. Slowly but steadily Tarmen was being driven back under the one legged creature onslaught. Several cuts across his arms and legs now bleeding quiet heavily.

Alexis saw everything unfold and something inside her snapped. She was… done. Just done.

“YOU!”
she roared at the creature.
“You could have come for us the whole time! So why now? HUH?!“

She stomped toward their assailant in an angrily determined pace, not even drawing a weapon.

Slashing down on Tarmen left arm and shoulder barraging him to the floor the being turned to face the new arrival. He turned into a dust devil again and moved swiftly into Alexis direction turning to his human form at the last moment bringing his blade up to attack the mercenary from Garrah.

From her position, Voah could see the whole thing going down, better still was the sight she caught from offshore. The boat was closing in on the beach.

Alexis didn’t really care wether she was hit or not.
The calm was back, though the objective part of her was willing to call it suicidal.
She did make an effort to jump aside, though. She had more to say after all.

At the edge of the beach hidden in the jungle an attracted by the smoke, fire and the sounds of battle, a group of three natives watched in fear and awe as the strangers fought the red cap demon.

The playful manner in how this creature was toying with him drove Tarmen into a frenzy. Being kicked to the ground only fed the fire, launching off the ground to challenge the imp again.

The one legged man turned his blade following Alexis. She tried to jump out of the way but he was too fast and his blade cut her across the shoulder, cutting through armour and flesh.

Alexis snarled, but stood her ground. Just a little longer.
“You want blood, yeah? Like those bastards smear over your statues?”
she hisses, drawing her dagger.
“Sure thing. Let’s bleed together!”
And she stabbed the weapon in his side.

With the imp in his physical form and now injured, Tarmen pushed himself into a sprint to tackle it. He could see nothing else but the little dust demon and how much he wanted it dead.

As Tarmen rushed the creature and Alexis stabbed at his side, it whistled and in the blink of an eye turned back into a dust devil. Tarmen barreled into Alexis at full force as her blade stabbed his side. She felt a couple of ribs crack as her comrade came crashing down on her.

“Good to see you, too.”
Alexis groaned painfully, but put all her strength to push Tarmen back up.
“GO!”

Stepping out of the jungle brush, the rest of the party probably barely recognized Voah in her messy state. She dragged her blade across the sand and pointed it at the magikal being. Invoking the names of her gods as she marched forward and pulled off the cloth covering her head wound giving her full vision.
