Bloodshed

JP between Lucian, Jaxx, Omni, Bandorchu, Winteroak and Strangetides

“The boat is close!” she yelled to the others. “Run! I’ll take this one.” she blocked the redcap’s path to Hunter and the apothecary.

Tarmen payed little mind to Alexis or her words, still in his mindless fury until she kicked him. The pain from his side drove sanity into his vision, looking back to the imp and finally seeing the boat as well.
Hearing Voah, he was impressed both had survived and while his pride was in tatters, he knew a bad fight when he saw it. Grabbing Alexis, he hauled her up while his side screamed.
“Get Hunter, I will get Cagliostro. The boat is our only chance.”

Nicolaus returned to Hunter. The man was crawling towards the water, and Nicolaus could see he was disorientated. "My friend, you are addled let me help," he looked back and saw the creature was once again focused on the two of them. What was "Mine"? He pulled the globe out again "Is this what you want?"

Alexis let herself be hoisted up.
“Gotcha.”
Holding her ribs she moved towards the beach where Voah, Hunter and Nicolaus faced the creature. Something else caught her eye on the way and she picked it up. A lost throwing knife.

Sweat poured down Voah’s face and her wild, bloodied hair whipped like a flag behind her. She breathed calmly as she stood down the enemy of her faith. “Hoi, Cambena, Kupen, Zinheim, Vastad. I need you now.”

The strange dust devil man creature looked at Nicolaus and the globe. He cocked his head to the side taking a puff of his pipe. He turned to look at Voah. His eyes appeared to flash red when their gazes crossed. "MINE." He said pointing at the prone figure of Hunter.

"Ahh you were from Kru'll and this man is from a people you knew there?" Nicolaus said. "Was it you who came on the ship long ago?"

“Nicolaus, go!” she urged him. Then the Arbiter spoke directly to the red cap. “He belongs with US.” she said confidently.

Alexis crossed the distance as fast as her condition allowed, wondering how the taciturn man had managed to draw that creature’s interest.
“Like hell you are gonna take him.”
She hissed, pushing her reserves to move just a little faster.

Voah’s blood pulsed and her wounds still stung but she pushed through the pain and approached the creature on her guard, hoping that it would attack first. “Take him if you can, but you go through me first.”

Nicolaus took Hunter's arm around his neck and hoisted the man up with a grunt, "Heavier than you look." He began to wade into the shallows towards the boat fast approaching half dragging the wounded man. He looked back and could see the rest of the group were all showing grievous wounds.

Tarmen pushed himself alongside Alexis. In their current state, he would have willingly thrown Hunter to the creature. The man’s skill was useful, but he had let better men go for the same offer.
What stopped him was numbers. He wasn’t about to argue with the others who seemed hellbent on preserving the assassin.
Passing the Arbiter, he gave a quick prayer to Vastad for her sacrifice to be worth it. Pressing into the water, the chill and salt hitting his wounds nearly made him fall, only pushing on out of his desire to survive...
