“Let’s get us some dogs, shall we?” Sam asked Marley. “We can spend this time getting to know each other. Like for instance, I would have thought you would have had a taste for more upscale food. That was a pleasant surprise.”

Marley raised a brow at him. "What do you mean? chili dogs are upscale." she said with a grin as they sat down at their table. "But not really when you grow up eating only fresh healthy fancy food stuff like this is like a real treat" he didn't need to look at the menu she knew her order by heart. so, when the waitress asked them a few minutes later " chili dogs with extra cheese side of onion rings and a large coke." rolled off her tong without even thinking.

“That came at an inopportune time,” Embry suggested.

Kate answered with a soft chuckle. "well perhaps its for the best. seems the wine might be getting the best of us." she motioned to the door. "we should probably get back to it." she said her soft smile telling him it wasnt really a question. she liked the rnger but she didnt want to rush head long into im either. she had been hurt before and she refused to do that again.

"I was just thinking about how it's been close to 10 years since your mom found me on the side of the road and gave my life a purpose. Truth be told I don't know what I would have done with my life I didn't have that chance or if I'd still be alive to begin with."

Raineys heart did a weird flip thing she didn't want to examine to closely when he spoke about staying by her at parties, but she frowned softly she didn't like when he talked like that, and she always got the impression that they kept him around like a pet or nothing more than a work tool. that wasn't the case anymore, he was practically family now. "You know she loves you right? you are more than just some kid she found on the street; you are pretty much a king now." she laid back down and look at the stars again. if she was being honest, she could lay here just like this forever. she pointed up to a random group of stars. "what's that one called?" she asked him. she just wanted to listen to him talk. the deep hum of his voice calming her as she closed her eyes.

Anna her the nock from her room but when no one answered after the first few times she sighed. leaving her room, she passed through the kitchen covered in takeout boxes and dirty dishes. her father wasn't anywhere to be seen, probably out getting drunk he wouldn't be home till late if at all. she had to step over her mother's feet <who was passed out in her chair a rig in her hand and the Ruber tubing still wrapped around her arm. Anna took the rubber off so the arm could get blood flow. this stuff used to make her so sad and angry but now she didn't feel anything as she staired down at her sleeping mother. the banging on the door returned and she unlocked the handle but not the chain as she cracked it and peeked out. Sam's father stood there looking angry as always and covered in rain. "Yes?" she asked if he was here, it meant she did something wrong and was in trouble with the chief.

David cursed as he drove down the road and staired at his cell. they wanted their money. he didn't have access to it. his mother had never trusted him enough o let him have access to the family money like that. he tossed the phone in the passenger seat and slammed his hands on the wheel "fuck! fuuuccckkk!!" he was in way to deep and no one could help him hell no one even knew.
