Perception Check Failure.

It was always the way, after one of their 'adventures' it was always busy in the medical bay. Jade had been run off her feet over the last few days with Jaxx and Plisken. Poor Eve, it was like watching Katrina and Cass loose Jay all over again. The bed so soon empty now occupied by Jaxx, the chair that Cass had so dutifully occupied over the days past, before she... Jade sighed and shook the memory away. As if in doing so she could pretend that it had never happened and the perpetually grumpy woman would walk through the door demanding something equally unreasonable and ingenious. Jade looked over the medi-bay, Eve finally asleep, monitors making their normal noises. She, in a series of actions that was so familiar, placed the blanket around Eve's shoulders, made sure she was comfortable and left to go to bed herself.

The giant beast loomed out of the mire, a form so volumous and vile that it caused the mind to cry out in horror at the existence of something so hideous. The crowned Robotnik was chanting something from his metal throne atop the monster:

"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" The words sent a shiver down her spine in the dream world as her crew mates and people from her past began to be snatched up in groups of one to four at a time.

"1d4 investigators per round!" Laughed the Robotnik crown in a manic demented gurgling.

"How many tentacles does Cthulhu have?" Queried Jay as his body was deftly torn in half by an uncountable number of green slippery tentacles.

"Too many!" Echoed Katrina, kissing the dead lips of her husband before being torn apart herself. Jade screamed and screamed as the wriggling masses gripped her body, wrapping around her arms, legs and every part of her they could.

Awaking in a cold sweat she was unable to return to the land of dreams. Instead she got up and showered, and went for a walk down the corridors in a bid to regain sleep. She ended up outside Cass's quarters. She dithered for a moment, not wanting to go in, then had doubts as if she was going to leave any hints about her location it would be there. It was damp in there, unlike her own quarters and it was cold. She shivered slightly in her pyjamas and sat on the edge of the bed.

"HALT INTRUDER!" The giant robot in the corner activated several vicious looking Gatling weapons and plasma guns.

"What?! No I'm not..." She protested. backing up the duvet holding a pillow in front of herself for 'protection'.

"INTRUDER. PURGE." The killer death machine monotoned.

"No... It's me! Jade! Dr Black!" She rattled off her ID number in a hasty fumble.

"BLACK, JADE, DOCTOR. CREW. STANDING DOWN." The machine cycled down its weapons with a hissing whine. Jade breathed a sigh of relief and eyed it suspiciously, aware that she had been seconds away from redecorating Cass's quarters a fetching shade of red and pink...

She sat on the bed, clutching the pillow and staring at the death machine for a long few moments before deciding that it was safe to move again. She looked at Cass's dressing table, a faded photograph of the Eiffel tower was there. She missed the crucial fact that it was still in construction in the picture and cast her gaze elsewhere and trying not to think about Paris. Finding nothing, she left, looking back and making a note to ask one of the boys to take a look at the plumbing issues in there if the Robot would let them.

On the way to the refectory she stumbled over a badly damaged skutter. She grumbled as the thing sparked and waved it's clawed head at her.

"I'm sorry..." She said, backing away from the dangerous machine.

It gestured and limped after her.

"Look, leave me alone, I said I was sorry. I'll get Alex to take a look at you if you want?" She said, attempting to placate the agitated Skutter.

It waggled and sparked, bobbing in a brokenly excited way.

"Alright... Wait here or something..." Jade said, entering the refectory.

<In here goes Jay's meeting and related posts>

So Plisken was alive. Well... He was mentally still present and correct, although a gender change was bound to cause some sort of mental confusion. She'd ask Phi to have a word, Phi seemed better at that then herself. She nodded to the 'Old Man' as he passed smiling at him, please he was back with them.

Suddenly, after all the confusion, Jade remembered her mission to talk to Alex.

"Alex?! I need to...." She was too late however as Eve was dragging the unwilling engineer off somewhere. At least the woman seemed to have purpose now, she wasn't weeping over Jaxx. Alex gave her a pleading look over his shoulder as if asking for help. Jade shrugged back and shook her head, thinking how best to tackle the situation.

"Can I help?" Jade leapt out of her skin as Jamie tapped her on the shoulder.

"Gah!" She managed a strangled gasp of surprise and whipped around, breaking her away from her silent conversation with Solvay.

"What?!" Jamie said, flinching himself in his social ineptitude.

"Nothing, you made me jump." She eyed Jamie for a second. "Actually, maybe you can help... How is your Skutter maintenance?" She queried to the engineer.
