The Really Icky Part

Mar looked to Ghost as things began to crumple up around her. He then saw how Serenity was growing uneasy with all this strong emotion. He tried to reign in his own growing anger at the prospect that the only way to help Ghost meant allowing Ripper to stay with them. He didn't like it. As things grew unbearable for Serenity she fled the room, and Mar felt relieved by this.

He didn't want her to see what he was about to do.

"So the key's inside him?" Mar turned to Ripper and regarded him with disdain. He reached out with his hand and closed his eyes as he searched for the key inside of Ripper. Soon he found it, and gripped it with The Force. "There..."

He began to pull it through Ripper, slowly, agonizingly, and he admitted he liked that it was hurting this beast. And then the key began to bulge the skin of his stomach. Mar continued to pull the key, he wasn't concerned with being gentle. After all, Ripper could heal from anything. With a final tug the key was pulled from Ripper's stomach. Mar held the key aloft in the air and set it on a table nearby, not willing to touch it himself. He looked to Ghost and Quint. "There... we have the key. Now... let's go find your home. If we have to bring this monster with us, then I suggest we rig him with a device that will deliver a shock to his system at varying voltages and intervals. Keep him stunned so he's no longer an immediate threat."

Mar looked to Ripper again, and oddly enough he felt a pang of guilt for the cruelty he'd just committed. This was not something Tal would've approved of. Yet Mar couldn't help but see something that reminded him of himself in the man. And he felt the need to kill that part of him every time it came up.

He looked to Ghost and Quint. "I'm taking Serenity back to my ship. Relay the coordinates to your home world when you're able. Ghost, if you so wish you can join us." He looked to Quint. "We'll follow you, but I will not stay on the same ship as that man..." He looked to Ripper again before leaving the room to go find Serenity.

He found the poor girl hiding underneath a table. He felt the pang of guilt more intensely at the sight of her. He knelt down. "I'm sorry, Serenity. I didn't anticipate any of this. Didn't expect such a monster to come after us. I know no other way to handle such situations. The Dark Side has been all I've known all my life... I'm trying to walk the path of the light... but is isn't easy." He grimaced. "Come. We can head back to the Swift and head to Ghost's world and hopefully find a safe place to hide so I can train you... and hopefully learn to be a better jedi and teacher..."

He offered her his robotic hand. "What do you think?"
