Lunch Day 3: Connor and Jocelyn

Lunch day 3:

Jocelyn sat at the same table as the day before. With the mess before the lunchroom was closed at least until they checked the damage. She had opted for pizza. Not her first choice but it was fine. At least it was good and not the frozen kind.

Conner walked through the line to pick up a large Sub and a coke. He looked for the others and did not see them yet. He scanned the crowd looking for people he knew. He focused on Jocelyn He wanted to ask her a few questions about the beach party anyways breakfast was a mess and did not get to ask her anything. He walked over to the table weaving in and out of people on the way the place was more crowded than normal with the lunchroom be out. As he got close to the table "Jocelyn, is it cool if I sit here with you?" he asked.

She nodded chewing a mouthful of crust, turning her head away to take a drink of the same kind of cran-apple juice as yesterday.

Conner smiled and took a set he unwraped his sub and opened his coke. "things going well for you today?" he asked. then took a big bite of the Sub.

Jocelyn shrugged and pointed to her hair, after swallowing she spoke and it came out a little horse sounding for the first few words. "It would have been." she said, "But that little stunt really messed up my hair. The product I put in it's a leave-in and it gets wet after drying it gets all goopy so I had to wash it out so my hair feels weird. What about you?" she asked punctuating it with a bite.

he answered after a drink from his coke. "Same had to go shower and get ready all over again and my second pair of shoes are tight so they are comfortable."

"I personally think the uniforms are unnecessary in this day and age but...rules are rules." she said. "Just wish, ya know the shirts weren't white. The guys in school sure weren't in a hurry to get out of there..." she said bitterly.

Conner thought then replying "It is so everyone looks equal. But we both know that the rich kids it does not work with them. There is still some discrimination between rich and scholarship kids." he said.

Jocelyn nodded "I know, just wish I didn't have to wear a skirt everyday." she emphasized the Have part. "Not that I hate them, but well I would like to have to choice to wear pants now and then." she said, this time not breaking stride as she took the case from her bag. "I don't know. Just well you know guys have that weird fetish for school uniforms and feels like we...us girls. Are force to play into that and give you...well not all of you, some of the guys here have a head on their shoulders but... makes me feel like an object, or something to look at which isn't always bad all the time but would like a break from having that feeling all the time." she said then took the pills. "I bet that doesn't make a whole lot of sense."

Conner thought on his own line of thinking it was true the girls were nice at times it was not a bad thing to look at. But never thought about it from their view. "I can see what you're saying. I guess I have never thought about it from your view. I guess it like when a guy takes off his shirt at the pool or beach and girls point at them you can get so self-aware wondering if it is good or bad. like wrestling I have no idea how JD can wear a wrestling singlet. There is no guessing what you have in those things it's almost like walking out in a thin speedo. I have heard girls talk about the guys and it was not innocent talk." replied Conner taking a bit of his sandwich.

"Don't get me wrong, people talk sure. But it's a whole lot different when when a guy gooses you under your skirt because 'short shirts are asking for it'. And sure not all guys, heck most guys are not like that, but enough are." she posited. "Just saying clothing isn't consent." she shrugged. "As for the wrestling thing. I guess it just takes confidence."

"Has happened to you? here at school? who?" he asked sound now a little angry.

Jocelyn put up her hands and shook her head nervous. "No.. not here." she said. "Calm, breath. It's in the past." she said. "I'm fine, it's fine just something that made me think."

He smiles then takes a drink of his coke "If someone does that. let me know?" he says almost uneasy. "I...lik.. well just let me know if anyone does somthing like that to you. I am sure they will never do that again," said Conner with a grin. "You have friends here that would help you with anything I am sure," Conner said reassuringly.

Shaking her head but with a hint if friendliness "I can't ask you to risk getting kicked out of school over me." She said, "I've got enough baggage as it is I don't want you losing your education to also weigh on me."

"Don't worry they won't find the body," he says jokingly. "I will be careful it won't go that far I think," he said then took a sip of his drink. "Besides if someone does that they would be in more trouble than I would be for stoping it," he said smiling. "You can trust me or my friends with anything we will help if we can." Conner said.

Jocelyn nodded, speaking again and changing the subject. "You should watch ho much soda you drink." She said holding up her juice. "I have other reasons for juice but Coke will take rust off stuff. That can't bode well for your insides."

"It's good for car batteries too. But it tastes good. I only normally have one or two a day." Replies Conner.

"Your body your choice. Just know I warned you when you get a kidney stone." She teased

Conner laughs some. "Your serious about this aren't you. but thanks for the warning," he said.

Knowing the bell was about to ring she gathered her things "See you later." She told him as she trotted off.

Conner did the same throwing his trash away and made his way to his class.
