A Minion Day Breakfast

JP with Jaxx

April woke up, rubbed her eyes, and looked over towards her roommate who was texting someone. It took a moment for April to see Dawn's beautiful smile.

Dawn: Morning.

April: Morning

Dawn: Did you forget?

April thought for a moment. Forget, forget? Oh, right.

April: Oh, that's right it's Minion Day. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I feel weird ordering Justin around.

April wondered if other girls were having this problem.

April: What did you do?

Dawn: I texted Dante my breakfast order. Look it's what you paid for and what the guys agreed to. You can be nice about it. I mean it's like you have to ask them to do anything that bad. Just things like carrying your tray and your backpack. Getting you your food from the cafeteria. Things like that.

April: So, I should text him my breakfast order?

Dawn: Yes, and if you don't I will.

April: Alright. Here it goes.

She texted Justin an order of scrambled eggs with cheese, toast, hashbrowns, and a regular coffee with cream and sugar. She sent the text.

April: Ok, done. It still feels weird.

Dawn: Justin is a nice guy. Just have fun with it. I've got to get going. I've got to get in some dance practice in time to come back and shower before breakfast.

Dawn left and that meant April had plenty of time to get ready. She just figured she'd live with feeling odd about ordering Justin around all day.

A little while later, she was ready so she headed downstairs to meet with Justin.

Kyle had gotten Blossom's text about what she wanted for breakfast. He got her food and had it waiting for her at the table. He looked around, it was easy to tell who was dating or wanted to and who wasn’t for the most part. Like most days at the school.

Blossom woke up to see a grouchy Ashley getting ready as she grumbled to herself. Blossom felt bad for her friend but sadly she could not help her. It was then she noticed a text from Kyle offering to get her breakfast for her. So Blossom then replied to Kyle what she would like and hoped she was not overdoing it. Then she and Ashley got ready for their day.

Justin woke up early as Jack came back in from his morning workout and shower. They chatted a bit as Jack was still in a grouchy mood having to be a minion for the famous Roxy Roker. Justin tried to encourage poor Jack but understood his situation. While getting ready Justin texted April to order breakfast for her while Jack received a text from Roxy telling him to get her breakfast. Then after getting ready both boys made their way to the cafeteria.

April arrived and easily found Justin and made her way over to him. She suddenly realized she hadn't had many conversations just with Justin without it just being part of some group conversation. Even then she didn't speak up very much. But it also wasn't as if she didn't know Justin. Still, when she approached the boy she had no idea what to say so it came out.

April: Um..hi. Thanks for doing this

Did that sound dumb? Despite how intelligent April was her shyness made her feel like she sounded dumb sometimes when she spoke. She could create entire worlds in her writing but put in front of someone she wasn't to the correct comfortable level with and she sounded like that.

Kyle spotted Blossom when she entered the cafeteria. He went over to her.

Kyle: You're table awaits. May I carry anything for you?

His tone was pleasant, friendly and gave every indication he was having some fun with the whole minion thing.

Blossom was hesitant to let Kyle take her backpack since she felt guilty for making him do stuff like that. Granted it felt nice to have a guy spoil her a bit bow that this was the third time it has happened. First Conner then Carter and now Kyle were spoiling her a bit. Granted it was a new experience for her she still liked it.

Blossom: Oh....um ....thanks? You really went all out huh?

Meanwhile, Justin was pampering April.

Justin: No problem. Is there anything else you would like? You do have my services the whole day after all.

Justin was acting just like a butler for April as he hoped to make her feel confident in herself.

Kyle took Blossom's backpack. He smiled at her.

Kyle: It was no problem.

He pulled a chair out for her. Once she was seated he sat down as well.

Kyle: So, is there anything you need today other than getting food and carrying stuff for you?

He was pretty sure she wouldn't ask for anything crazy. So he was safe in that question.

April shouldn't have been thrown by Justin's question but she was.

April: I'm not sure, really. I guess it's mostly just the carrying stuff.

Dawn had said she should have fun with this but she wasn't actually sure what she should be asking Justin to do.

April: I'm sorry. I'm really not even sure what to ask you to do.

Well, at least she was managing complete sentences.

Justin chuckled a bit at the nervous April.

Justin: Relax April. Just think of me as a one-day butler. So feel free to be a little spoiled.

Justin then sat next to April to eat with her over small talk.

Meanwhile, Blossom was a bit nervous as she was nibbling on her food. Granted Kyle was very handsome and cute, she was not getting a sexual vibe from him. In her eyes, he was like a fancy and young butler.

Blossom: Wow. Are you sure it is okay to do all of this for me? I mean Rose was the one who spent her money. I feel kind of guilty, getting a free butler for that.

Blossom was a little worried by the answer she might get.
April hadn't paid for Justin but neither had Rose as Dawn had given her the money to do this.

Justin's words made the girl feel a little more comfortable and she found herself engaged in small talk with the boy as they ate.

Kyle, of course, would have understood the no sexual vibe from and actually wonder if Blossom could give that instinct to some of the other girls around here as it would make his life easier.

Kyle: Well, it was Rose's idea so I think she's fine with it. Besides, you were part of a rescue mission, in a sense. Maybe you could think of it as a reward for that.

Kyle had gotten to know Rose well enough to know that while she did this to rescue the boys; there was possibly another side of her that did it so the girls that normally couldn't afford this kind of thing could be pampered for a day.

Blossom: Thanks. To be honest it’s a bit weird seeing money being used so easily. Back home in Dot, Montana, we would never dream of doing a Minion Auction. The closest thing we have is the livestock auctions and they are for food.

Blossom then turned red as she realized she compared Kyle to a cow. She needed to correct herself quickly as she stuttered.

Blossom: So……….sorry I didn’t mean to compare you or the other guys to livestock. I mean you guys look nicer than cows and smell way better. Oh god, I don’t think you smell bad….it’s just……

Blossom felt like she just put her foot in her mouth as her face turned red.

Meanwhile, Justin was offering his other services to April as he told her about his skills in fashion. He let her know that he and Kyle were open to giving April and Blossom a small makeover for the dance if they wanted it.

Kyle smiled at Blossom. He wasn't mad at her words.

Kyle: It's okay really I understand what you meant. You can relax. It's all fine. The guys agreed to do this and it is for charity.

April heard the word makeover and appreciated the offer but still was unsure about it.

April: Are you sure you want to take the time to do that?

He was already being so nice about all of this she was uncertain about taking up more of his time.

Justin simply smiled at April as she was unsure about his offer.

Justin: Well I do feel bad by the limited skills I can offer you today. Other than getting you meals and carrying your books, I can only offer my fashion expertise since most of the others will be taking their minion out on a date. Since we are on a friendship level that would not be appropriate unless it was a double date of course.

Justin smiled at April as he took a nibble of his food and swallowed it since he was a bit famished.

Justin: It's still up to you of course, but the offer is still open.

Blossom: Oh thank goodness. Sometimes I forget that life is different here in California compared to Montana. It's like a whole new world for me. So I guess you are okay with doing that minion stuff for someone like me? I feel bad since I spent my last $20 on Conner. To be honest I didn't think would win him like that. I was going to ask my folks to send some more money, but Ashley said she would cover me if Rose asked. She has been very nice to me since we met.

Blossom took a sip of her drink and a nibble of her food before she spoke up again.

Blossom: To be honest, sometimes I don't think I fit in this fancy place. Ashley told me to let it go and to tell her if anyone picks on me. She can be scary sometimes but she is very sweet. Though I am worried about her and Jack since another girl bought Jack at the auction.

April thought about it for a moment; she was already pretty good friends with Kyle and he would be there. And it did sound fun.

April: I could do it today but it would have to be right after school. I ....um...kind of have a date. It would be nice though to have a makeover for it.

The idea of surprising Dawn with a makeover made her want to do it even more.

Kyle nodded and ate some of his own breakfast.

Kyle: Oh, California is its own world. I don't really think it's like anyplace else. I'd be more surprised if people that aren't from here didn't need some adjusting time. Well, I'm pretty sure no one expected what happened at the auction with Conner.

What Blossom said about Ashley didn't surprise Kyle. Ashley seemed, overall, like a nice girl as long as you didn't get on her bad side.

Kyle: You seem to be fitting in just fine. I mean you've made a bunch of friends. I don't just mean Ashley or Justin but I'd put you in the friend's category as I'm sure so would the group. I can believe Ashley would have your back but she isn't the only one.

Kyle didn't mean best friends or anything like that but they did hang together and that made her at least a casual friend.

Kyle stopped his coffee cup midway to his mouth and had to put the cup down when Blossom mentioned that Ashley had lost the bid for Jack.

Kyle: What? Someone else won Jack? Who?

Blossom: Yes. It was that famous girl from the concert. Her name is Roxy Roker. I know she and Ashley are on bad terms but I am kind of a fan of Roxy. Her remake of Jolene is so good. Anywho, she spent like $50,000 to win Jack for some crazy reason. I mean that is a lot of money. I just hope they can work things out. I hate to see Ashley like that.

Blossom nibbled on her food and washed it down with her drink. She didn't feel that she was betraying Ashley since she was not told to keep it a secret and Ashley kind of made a big deal about it in public. Also, Blossom was very worried for her friend.

Blossom: It's kind of scary how some people can just throw that kind of money around.

Meanwhile, Justin nodded and smiled at April as she was eager for the make-over. He was glad she was into the idea since it would be a fun event for them. He had a feeling he could talk Blossom into the idea after they made April over.

Justin: Well then you would go first of course in time for your date. I hope your date gets excited to see your new look. We can work on Blossom after you so no worries.

Kyle hadn't been surprised when Rose had spent 40,000 on JD. Not only did he know Rose seemed to have endless pockets but she and JD were so clearly in love with each other. Roxy spending 50,000 on Jack was something else. He was aware Roxy was a big name in the music industry. With Kyle's dad being a music producer and Kyle growing up around a number of names in the music industry he was sort of used to people like that.

Kyle: I know who Roxy is; I don't know her personally but she's in some of the music classes. I hope things work out for them.

Kyle started sipping his coffee when Blossom mentioned money

Kyle: There is a large number of rich kids here but most aren't to the level of Rose or, I guess, Roxy.

April was glad that Justin was okay with her timetable.

April: That sounds good.

Blossom: I know and it makes me nervous that their allowance is bigger than my dad’s paycheck. So you met Roxy? I wish I could get her autograph but I am to scared to ask, especially if Ashley gets mad. Maybe one day I will get a chance. What about you Kyle? Have you met someone you like?

Blossom nibbled her food again and sipped her drink.

Meanwhile, Justin began asking April about her likes and dislikes in fashion so he could get an idea where to start with her make-over.

Kyle nodded and a smile crossed his face when he thought who he had met that he liked. He guessed Blossom had to be the only person in the group that hadn't figured out about him and Justin. He thought back to that day when he ended up telling everyone in the group that he was gay. He remembered Blossom's reaction. He still wasn't sure if she completely understood all of that. Blossom was smart enough to be at the school so clearly, this was a matter of not having much life experience in being around people like Kyle or Justin. He wondered for a moment what Blossom's reaction will be when Dawn and April start dating; he knew it was only a matter of time and he doubted they would be subtle about it.

Kyle: Yes, actually there is. I can't really talk about it at the moment.

He couldn't really say much else about it until Justin was good with it. Kyle wouldn't do that even if it would make many things a lot easier. At least if they just came out and told their friends what Kyle knew most of them already, pretty much, knew.

Kyle: Is there anything else I can get you, at the moment?

He knew the time for breakfast was running out so he had to make sure. He wasn't about to open up the kettle of fish that was the Conner situation with Blossom but he had to wonder if Blossom had any idea about Kaylee being in that mix. He knew about the date from the last day at the beach party. Among other things, he'd noticed. But he wasn't going to go there.

The day pretty much went on with the guys carrying stuff for the girls and eventually it got to the time for them to meet for the makeovers.
