The Tour: D Deck

CSCCS Nomad > D Deck > Vehicle Bay
Once the Klaxons stopped and the deck lights indicated environmental safety, Sestero pulled off his helmet and grinned at the assembled crew.
"Alright now, who's ready to explore their new home?"

Maddox pulled his helmet off as well. “Don’t gotta tell me twice. I can’t wait.” Maddox even as a tall and strong man seemed excited for this new chapter. The new chapter that included space travel. “Anyone wanna roam with me?”

Captain Yoshida was already taking off his helmet, but left Ghost’s custom helm in place to keep his hands free until they got their suits to the proper storage units.

"Alright folks, you're currently gracing the grounds of the CSCSS Nomad's vehicle bay, also known as D deck. This is all that's down here. Vehicles and associated storage. Everything down here is secured to hard points in case the flight gets a little bumpy. If you look up you'll see the catwalk surrounding this area. That's C deck, and our next stop. Any questions so far?"

Dr. Adama looked around and removed his helmet as he was getting his bearings. The layout of the ship was different than what he was used to, but it wouldn't take long to figure things out.

After being asked if they had any questions he shook his head no and secured his EVA suit before getting ready to move on. His future plans included finding his quarters, cryo-pod, testing his mining equipment, and brush up on his research without any distractions.

He didn't mind being social, but he was now on the clock and had to prioritize his agenda before fun and games.

Rita started to take off the helmet and tilted her head randomly to feel the freedom from the helmet.

"All good on this front." Rita said quietly and took a few steps away from the group as she scanned around the bay.

Looking around the large vehicle bay, the crew saw a workshop area, garage bays containing harnessed vehicles: 3 treaded ATVs, a large 4x4 truck, a mobile science trailer, and several boring and mining kits that could be attached to the truck’s hydraulic systems.

The vehicle bay had an elevator that could be lowered to a planet surface and deploy an access ramp to allow vehicles to leave the ship.

Two pairs of airlocks were located on each side of the vehicle bay to access an outer catwalk to allow in-space maintenance.

There was a small office with a remote control box for a maintenance crane as well as the elevator/ramp. A corrugated garage door marked for spare vehicle parts and another marked for tools and equipment were placed at the back of the bay.

There was a freight elevator and two ladders, one on either side of the room that led to a catwalk overlooking the vehicle bay.

Removing his helmet, Garret looked around and smiled. He walked around glancing at some of the equipment, then stopped and looked at a few boxes tagged medical supplies on the Vehicles. The number of boxes seemed right. He would do an inventory later. "Well show me to your leader," joked Garret.

Rita nodded and looked at Blaire, "I think I can speak for the other researchers when asking 'where is the lab?'," Rita looked towards the door. "If these are the toys in here I can't wait to see what toys are in there.."
