The Great Space Escape

The plan was a simple one. Aim gargantuan, flaming, out of control space station at doughnut shaped asteroid. Crash gargantuan, flaming, out of control space station into doughnut shaped asteroid. Exit gargantuan, flaming, out of control space station via the plexiglass window and drift towards another gargantuan object, this time a space ship, that was not covered in flames but in imminent danger of being hit by a doughnut shaped asteroid or a gargantuan, flaming, out of control space station.

Gomez had to admit it, he had heard better ideas. But seeing as he was currently having to work with a group of people that contained a dangerously suicidal hologram, a man who believed he was a magic elf and a man with no legs who listed amongst his useful skills 'knows how to prepare a kumquat', he got the feeling that a better plan was not so much just around the corner, but still waiting for the bus in another city.

The group managed to fit themselves into the survival suits that had, thankfully, been left untouched by the flames that now surrounded them. It had taken some diplomacy and a swift smack around the head to get Seymour into his suit ("Is it tailor made by the sartorial androids of Saville XII? I think not!"), but they were all now ready for the jump out of the window and towards Blue Dwarf.

"Get ready" said Phil, keeping an eye on the approaching asteroid, hoping the station could keep it together for just a few more moments.
The group stood poised to jump. Most of them had gone through Space Corps Basic Survival Training and knew the procedure. But seeing as most of them were either still inebriated or hungover to the point of nausea, the weekend of training at the New Grimsby Training Camp was rendered rather a moot point.
The station hit the asteroid with a giant, silent thud and the crew for the most part timed their jump perfectly. Blown out into space by the sudden lack of oxygen in the room. Igniting the booster rockets on their suits, they were able to hold their course and drift ever closer to the giant, rusty ultramarine eyesore that was Blue Dwarf.

As the craft loomed closer, the fuel in their booster rockets cut out and they made a concentrated effort to aim towards one of the still functioning hangar bays on the side of the ship they were facing. Their formation was nearly broken up by Davie spinning into Seymour and sending them tumbling towards oblivion. Thankfully, Alex managed to grab a hold of them both, saving them from the depths of outer space and Davie in particular from Seymour's demands of swapping insurance details.

Using the computer control pad that was built as standard into all survival suits, Gomez managed to connect with Holly and persuaded the doddering computer to open the nearest set of shuttle bay doors and activate the tractor beams to land them inside. A few moments later, the crew were grabbed by the energy beams and pulled towards the ship.

Shortly afterwards, after the shuttle bay doors had been sealed and pressure restored, the group slumped down in exhaustion and shock from their daredevil performance. Wiping the sweat from his brow and pulling a cigarette from behind his ear, Andy smiled at the group.

"Nice one, fellas." he beamed, lighting the cigarette "time to boogie on down to the pub, I believe. Mine's a pint of the black stuff!"

As they stood up, slapping each other on the back in that way men do in order to convey approval and camaraderie, Gomez looked around at them. Something wasn't quite right.

"Hey!" he cried out "where is Senor Niples?"

<TAG: Where exactly IS Senor Niples? Is he still floating around outside?>
