A Rose by Any Other Name...

He was quite simply stunning. He was the most perfect example of toned muscular humanity that she could think of. Except maybe Chris Hemsworth, possibly Hugh Jackman or Bradley Cooper. His hair seemed to flow in a constant breeze, waving slightly in a gorgeously dramatic way. The wings were elegant and shapely, perfectly proportioned to his naked muscular torso, he seemed to shimmer slightly as if covered in oil or glitter. Jade sighed, looking over at the man she knew Solvay could be if he tried. The man she saw him as.

"You ok?" Eve asked Jade, her mech suit bulking out the woman.

"Yeah... I'm fine." Jade smirked inside.

Yeah, f'ed up insecure needy and emotional.

"Yeah Eve I'm ok. He's right, he see's the world differently to me. Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt though." She smiled ironically. "I don't really want to talk about it now." She placed a hand on Eve's arm, thanking her for the concern.

"You know where I am if you want to talk about it." Eve said smiling back at Jade before heading back to Jaxx.

"Hey Alex..." Jade piped up, trying to get the attention of the angel who was unconsciously striking a rather sexy pose. His wings outstretched, one knee on a box and a thoughtful expression on his face.

"Yes?" He said, turning around to face Jade. Still not quite used to the wings, as he turned, Jade got a face full of feathers. The momentum propelled her over the edge and into the blue goop.

She only had time to try and gasp in shock, a mouth full of feathers and goop filling her mouth as she tried to surface. Coughing up a lungful of angel wing she briefly broke the surface before struggling against the deep water.

"I..." Glug, gloop, blub. "Can't!..." Gasp, splash, bubble "Swim!" Jade gasped between breaths as she floundered about in the goop before going under.

"Black, Jade. Teenage rebel, trouble maker for a good cause. Psych records note abusive ex-boyfriend, loss of a child and PTSD during Hymenopterra War. Qualified Doctor and medical examiner. Other qualifications include, herbology, reflexology, reiki and aromatherapy. Religion listed as Pagan." The machine rattled off the list of her vital statistics and information from her record for all to hear whilst under the surface she tried to hold her breath, her lungs burned and her eyes stung as the goop began to infiltrate. "Error. System failure detected." The voice went silent as the system rebooted.

"Black, Jade: Breeding: 'Sheri Anne' X 'Laguna'. A reasonably vigorous plant but tends to be very upright in habit, making it ideal as a cut flower but somewhat graceless as a garden shrub. The blooms fade to an unattractive paler red with brownish, burned looking overtones if you have it placed in an extremely sunny spot. It produces its best blooms in partial shade, where the mid-day sun doesn't burn them and that rich blackish velvet red hue can be its best." The machine rattled off, finishing it's diatribe. Her muscles screamed in agony, her breath gave out and she gasped involuntary 'air'. The blue stuff launched it's attack on her lungs and throat, a searing burning pain.

Then it stopped.

She tried to struggle to the surface but her limbs weren't behaving normally. They felt too stiff and lose at the same time. She tried to reach up and a hand broke free.

By now, after several minutes of being under, the other Dwarfers were concerned. The two winged men flew down and grabbed hold of Jade, Alex selflessly plunging his arms into the fluids to grab Jade's other arm. She was placed safely on the ground again and fell into a heap.

"What the...?" asked Jay, poking the mass in front of them with a toe. "Is that the Doc?"

The mass twitched as it was poked. The dwarfers all jumped back as thorny protrusions erupted from the surface of the thing. Jade felt the prod and responded on an instinctive level to protect herself. Thorns erupting from her green-brown hued skin. She struggled upright, onto what would have been her feet very slowly.

She was now a strange shade of green-brown, black thorns receding into her skin as she stood. Where her hair was, cascaded a slew of deep black-red rose blooms. Her right arm was loose and joint less, more like a tentacle or a tendril than an arm, with several smaller thinner tendrils trailing off the same side and down her legs in a green spaghetti like manner. Her left arm was a more pinkish-green, terminating in her normal hand, black thorns having just vanished as the others looked on.

"Whas the matter? Wha'am I?" She said out loud, the words felt thick and awkward in her mouth. Half of her face was green-brown the other pink-green. Half human, half plant.

"Black, Jade. Breeding: 'Sheri Anne' X 'Laguna'..." The computer began.

"What?!" Jade asked, getting to grips with the stiffness in the side of her plant body.

"I think the program messed up..."

"Thanks, genius." Jade fleered. "I'd never have guessed."
