The evil within

Quint watched Ghost draw the force into her and let it be fueled her anger. She stormed out of the room to find Master Mar and Rowan. After a moment, Quint smiled. Ghost had controlled the use of the Force and made a different choice this time. This was a huge step for a Padawan.

Quint looked at Serenity hoping she could explain this next part to Ghost, "I am not defending him or what he did. It was pure evil. I want him to die too." She stopped as Ghost went out of view and as L2 hugged her leg.

As bad as this was, she now understood the biggest struggle of taking a Padawan was learning to be patient and teaching them to use logic over emotions. She felt sorry for the hell she put her Master through and probably still did. This a huge step in her really learning what it is to be a Jedi Knight.

After Mar ripped the key from Ripper. Here opinion of Mar was that he was much closer to the Darkside than he wanted his padawans to know. A little pain medicine would have numbed ripper. He said to leave ripper in the dust of the planet and now.. Now he wanted Rowan and herself to transport and take care of Ripper. The man was completely irrational with how and when he used the Force. Worse he was enjoying the pain he caused Ripper.

After Mar activated the shocking for Ripper and then did the holier than thou bit. She decided to take the teenager approach to the man.

Quint moved into his space again and she wanted him off the ship as much as he wanted to be away from Ripper.

"My Lord," she said referring to him as if he was a Sith still. She wasn't going to call him Darth, but it was temping. In his actions, she was seeing little sign that he wasn't.

In Quint fashion she spoke, "You do know that you all are under the influence of the Darkside of the Force?"
She paused for a moment letting him sense it. She continued speaking, "He wants you to torture him in front of your apprentices. In fact you just taught them that using the force to torture someone is acceptable behavior for Jedi." She could feel her battle sense coming up as her awareness of the space and everything in it was coming fully alive. She was preparing to fight him if need be to protect Serenity and Ghost.

She could see the waves of force coming off of Ripper flowing into the others.
She spoke bluntly, "Ripper has force powers like Ghost does or did his lightsaber miss your attention? He doesn't need his body to be working to manipulate and hurt you. He just needs to have you follow own emotions and wants to following your path back to the Darkside and bring your Padawans with you."

Ninth Sister wanted to jump in to help her with this debate, Quint said, "Shut up," and slammed some mental door within her. It felt good and it seem liked she caught Ninth Sister's fingers in the door jam too. That felt good, having door she could slam!

She took a breath and continued, "I wanted to end his life humanely, because I am not a monster. I don't approve of what he did and wants to do right now." She let the you are a monster too hang there.

As Mar took Serenity's arm to lead her back to his ship, Quint said coldly, "Meditate on this, I will 'unofficially' accept being your apprentice, than to fight you on your path back to the Darkside. My Lord Sith, if necessary, I will kill you to save then from following you to the Darkside.'"

As she turned, Quint called to Red, "Red, let's see if we can we put Ripper in a stasis field and suspend his brain activity. If we can ease the pain he is feeling, it would keep us safer and stop him from feeding his force powers with the pain, anger, and hate."

Quint knew that she would now need to push herself harder than she ever did before.

"Come on L2," she said. Quint's protocol droid was about having a stroke by her behavior.

She needed to install a stupid door on this ship so she could slam it. Maybe Rowan might let her do this.
