Collision Immenent

MU/TH/UR came on over the intercoms in a sterile voice, “Alert: Ship approaching. Collision imminent.”

Capt. Kenny turned to Asahi Ogai with great concern and said, "What the...?" He then looked at the console to check their bearings. Capt. Kenny then hit the intercom to talk to all crew members, "All hands on deck! It seems we are off course and we are approaching a derelict! Prepare for evasive measures!"

Klaxons on the bridge raged as warning lights flashed red. As the crew looked out the viewports of the bridge, a small area obscured the stars growing closer and closer.
“Brace for collision,” MUTHUR droned.

Just finishing up the Medlab inventory, she closed the cabinet door of the pharmaceuticals. MUTHUR's warning took the intercom. Disappointed, Hikari Roku thought to herself, 'Not like this. Not yet. I've come too far.'

In the cargo hold, as others became aware of impending doom, Vera was oblivious while performing her various checks and equipment logs. Her headphones were on and blaring music that she was rocking out to. The klaxons barely cut through the sounds of her music...

Chariots of the Gods

She froze, turned to look up at the battered speaker on the wall above her head, and then dashed to the nearest terminal to find out what the fuck was going on.

Bruce Jensen looked up from his coffee in a mild panic. The emergency lights were flashing. So far, his time with this crew had been uneventful, it was his third crew evaluation, but he was still not used to space travel and really didn't want to die there.
"Fuck.", he whispered.

"We do NOT want to be in here if this ship strikes something!", Roberts yelled from across the cargo bay to Kirby.

"Get out! Go! I may have to cut the cargo loose!", Vera yelled back.

"Not a chance! What do I need to do?", Roberts yelled again.

Kenny prepared for impact as he looked at Paddy Lohan and yelled, "Paddy do something!"

Vera cut in on the comms, "Should I jettison the cargo?"

Without a word, Paddy Lohan popped a pill and mastered the helm. There was a reason he was hired for this kind of job and it was not just the drugs that made him good, though they had certainly helped lately. He narrowly avoided the oncoming vessel with style and precision.

Capt. Kenny winced as Paddy pulled off a miracle maneuver before he swallowed the lump in his throat. He was very relieved on many accounts. He was glad they avoided a crash, any injuries, any deaths and the soiling of his pants. After catching his breath and calming his nerves he responded to Vera.

"Stand down, Vera! Paddy just saved our bacon and earned his paycheck today. All hands secure and check your stations. We need to find out where we are and how we got here. I have a bad feeling we are SOL. I want reports ASAP."

Now chewing on a wad of gum, Lohan looked at his Samani E-series watch. Still ticking.

“Hey, uh, Cap! Looks like we’re still about 12 days out. We were meant to arrive right around Christmas. It’s only Dec 13.”

Capt. Kenny replied, "12 days out? So are we still on course and woke up early or are we off course and woke up early? I need to know what our options are since we might have a chance to turn this around."

With his experience, Roberts knew the ship was close. He could almost feel the other ship as they went by. The scream of the thrusters and vibrations said everything. He gave one last look at the cargo tie downs and clamps.

"We are good here!", he yelled. Glenn Roberts walked to the bulkhead leading back to the main part of the ship he looked back at Kirby, "I got to get upfront this is my area of expertise." he said as he opened the bulkhead and walked through it toward the bridge.

"We are what? That far out?", as he entered the back of the bridge.
Paddy Lohan pulled up the starmap.

MU/TH/UR 6500 signaled a yellow light meaning that she wanted to talk to Captain McCormick only.
