Briefing

“Alright, guys and arbiter, let’s talk basics.”

Alexis leaned back on the railing, arms crossed and calmly let her gaze wander over her party.

“You should all now the objective. Reconnaissance regarding the isle and its inhabitants for a maximum of two weeks. Inhabitants are assumed to be highly aggressive towards intruders, so we will try and avoid open confrontation as much as humanly possible.
I trust everyone got the message that this is no joke. Last party to be send to that island got wiped out. I’d prefer we don’t follow that example.

You’re all here because you are good at what you do. So if any of you got an idea how we heighten our chances to get back home alive at any point, you tell me and we’ll see if we can make it work.

However, if I or Tarmen here give an order I expect you to follow it. I am open for discussion, but not while arrows are raining down or hypothetical demons are coming for our blood. Got that?”

She looked at Tarmen and Hunter.

“This ship is not exactly invisible so it is quite possible the natives will learn about our presence fast. I want you two to give us your excess baggage so one of you can scout ahead for a concealed or at least defendable position and the other can cover our tracks as much as possible. You get sorted out who does what. Rest of us stays together and on the move.

I assume not all of us know military signs. Given we find any time at all, I’m gonna teach those who don’t the basics.”

With a half smile to the group Alexis continued.

“So, in the current absence of arrow rain and hypothetical demons, this is one of those moments when you can pitch your own ideas.”
