People Are Strange, When You're a Stranger

Seymour screamed like a choirboy with a ferret in his robe. The being that had unexpectedly popped into existence was around 6'7 and wearing a dark cowl. Its face was obscured by a hood. It growled, voice deep.

“Oh! Hallo!” Said Efof amiably and held out his hand towards it.
The others held their breath. Cass subtly readied her robot again. The figure stood for a moment then a hand emerged from the cowl, it looked human. It shook Efof's hand then... another growl. The Dwarfers glanced at one other, nervously.

The rumble turned into a far less threatening sounding hacking cough. The figure pulled it's hood back and grinned apologetically.
“Sorry about that! Interdimensional travel always gives me a bit of a frog in my throat.”

The man was extremely attractive, despite a severe military haircut. His features were smooth and even, his jaw square and clean shaven, hair blond, eyes and teeth sparkling. Everyone stared.
The newcomer shrugged off the cowl to reveal that his body was as impressive as his visage – he bulged like a balloon animal stuffed into a T Shirt, like an over sized Action Man. Alex frowned, not sure he liked the thought of that.

“Gee! What a ride!” Said the man, scritching the back of his head. “Caught some turbulence off the back o' your entrance there.”
His American accent was friendly, his tone relaxed.
Nobody spoke. He continued.
“Anyway, saw the battlecruisers, thought you folk looked like you could do with a hand.” He finished with another wholesome, gleaming grin.

Alex and Seymour spoke as one.
“Nah, we're fine thanks.” “Oh yes, that would be jolly kind of you.”
They looked at each other. Action Man chuckled.
“Oh boy, well I don't wanna tread on anyone's toes...”

Alex said nothing. Seymour said “No! No, you're not. I'm Seymour and this is my crew.”
Some of the crew” Alex quickly added as he caught the man frown at Jelena apparently squeezing her own breasts together.
“Well my name's Steve. Steve Stevens.”
Justin, in Jelena's body, snickered. Seymour shot the holo a look then shook Steve's hand.
“Well, Steve, you're very welcome here. Any help you could give us would be greatly appreciated.”

Most of the others nodded in enthusiastic agreement. Even Bedge was looking at him dreamily. Alex rolled his eyes inwardly.
“Seymour, we don't know anything about him...”

But there was no time to discuss it further as they were hit again. Alex staggered as the drive room was slammed sideways. Something sparked and exploded. Smoke filled the room and the crew's lungs. Choking, half blind, many of them lost their footing in the jolting confusion. Seymour slid helplessly across the room. Steve slipped and smacked his head on a console. “Oh, great” wheezed Justin in Jelena's body.

Alex heard Holly's voice distantly grumbling “Well, there's no need to be like that, is there?” Before he lost consciousness entirely...
