Our Own Kind of Fun

Surprisingly, to April she had begun to make a few friends on the first day. This would have been less surprising if they had all been nerds like herself, which most were, but even the group that she met at PE seemed nice. She wasn't exactly outgoing so it was a nice change for her.

She made her way to the cafeteria and spotted some of the students she had met in her last class at a table in the center, the nerds over on one side of the cafeteria, and Dawn and Zander sitting together but at a table separate from others. She knew the two were siblings and figured it was a family thing so she left them alone and asked to sit at the nerd table who welcomed her.

The conversation, at the moment, was talk of a D&D starting up. She mentioned she liked to play in it. Her mind though drifting over towards Zander and Dawn. She thought it might be interesting to have a sibling at the same school, twins. She was an only child and sibling relationships were interesting to her. Something had peaked her interest with the two of them or maybe someone.

The group decided to meet at the rec center later to make characters and April, very unlike herself, mentioned inviting Zander to play. To which they all agreed. Taking a huge breath, April, got up from her table and headed over to where Zander and Dawn were.

"Hey." She said. "Sorry, if I'm interrupting."

"You're not." Dawn and Zander said simutaniously.

The three of them laughed slightly. Then April asked. "Do you two do that a lot?"

Zander answered. "Yes. I suppose it's a good thing we're not in a lot of the same classes. It used to annoy our teachers."

April nodded. "Oh, Zander. A group of us want to start a D&D game and were going to meet at the rec center at about 7:30. We wanted to invite you."

Zander nodded. "I'll be there. Thanks."

"Ok, I'll let them know," April responded. "I'll talk to you, later then. " She said bye to the siblings and went back to where she was sitting. She swallowed her nerves back down and hoped she didn't blush; if she had no one called her on it The talk about the game and the mechanics and which was version. April took a bfreath and listened to the converstation.
