Thunder and Lightening?

Jade watched with a disturbed mix of horror and fascination as Alex writhed, undulated and twirled in the cool rain. Seymour tried his best to escape the sight of the loin cloth clad crazy but was having issues moving the wheels on the makeshift chair.

"It's like a bachelor party lap dance." Phil giggled.

"Well he's had the practice hasn't he?" Phi murmured to Jade

"What?" Jade asked, having just come out of stasis she wasn't so
savvy with all the gossip.

"You know, the whole prostitute thing?"

"Sure, whatever, and Jamie is a cross dresser." Jade said, disbelieving the fact.

"It was just the one time I went to the theatre that time!" Jamie protested, too adamantly from his position of listening in.

"Wha... I didn't... It was a joke..." Jade spluttered. Jamie turned a shade of scarlet and turned away.

"You see, you'll miss us really." Jay slapped Efof on the shoulder and carried on packing up the camp in the downpour. Slowly everyone began to do the same. Jade smiled at the blue alien, his physiology really was unique. She wouldn't miss the challenge of being his medical advisor at all, but he'd be missed on the crew. A big four armed, alien hole in the navigation department.

As the camp began to pack up the dinosaurs, a 'discussion' erupted about how best to attach Seymour to the giant beast. The majority of the practical people, knowing that they were going back to the Dwarf knew that he'd be able to get another. Seymour didn't want to let go of his freedom though. She shook her head as Seymour began to complain.

"You would say that! It's not fair!" He sounded a bit like a whining child who didn't want a booster jab to Jade.

"Can't we just string him up to the underside of the thing?" Jacky asked, getting annoyed with the Ambassador. Noticing Cassandra, still sat on the edge of the camp, staring at the ground Jade walked over.

"Hey..." She started.

"..." Cassandra replied by continuing to stare at the ground.

"Look, I can't imagine what you've been through recently..." The Doctor was interrupted by a vicious stare from the wounded woman. Cass was about to come in with a witty retort. "Let me finish..." She placed a hand on Cass's arm. "I promise I'll get out of your hair after." She winced inwardly at the poor choice of phrase.

"Fine. Whatever." The voice of someone who felt utterly alone.

"Look, of everyone here, I might have an idea of what you've been through." Jade lifted the sleeves of her white coat and showed scarred wrists, two circular marks faded and old now. "You never stop trying to get away..." This caught Cass' attention and she looked up at Jade.

"What happened?" Cass asked, observing the marks.

"I was tied up, beaten, raped and abused for what felt like a lifetime by my ex boyfriend." She closed her eyes, pushing the images from her brain. "Just, I wanted you to know, that whilst you might feel like it, you aren't really alone." She hugged Cass briefly and smiled. "I know you don't believe me now, but it does get easier."

"Thanks." There was a low rumble, like thunder.

"Did you hear that?" Jade asked, looking up for the lightening, squinting against the rain.

"Maybe it's just thunder?" Cass looked over to the two dinosaurs, neither had moved, but both were now acting nervous, their heads swinging about and tails whipping left and right.

There was another, louder rumble and the ground tremored slightly. Jade looked down at the tin cup of water next to Cass. The ripples in it were obvious and not because of the rain.

"LETS HUSSLE IT UP HERE PEOPLE!" WhiteWolf cried, powering through the undergrowth and nimbly scampering up the back of the dinosaur tail.
