Planning the assault

“Foundry Decks?” Phil said “That’s where….”
“Where the Cannon Control hub is…” Jay finished “Something tells me our saboteur has been found…” he opened a channel back through the ship-wide comm.
“All hands, this is Chrysler, saboteur has been identified as Ishani. Meet up back at Parrotts, - Hoshi, that means your guys too…”
He was interrupted by another voice coming over the comm.
“Jay, Solvay here…I was just heading up to the Cannon Control to see what I could find out, I saw the time…thing as it happened. It was Ishani alright…and Jay…she took Cass….”

Around an hour or so later, the group of Blue Dwarfers and STCP were assembled again in Parrotts. Justin had come back online too, though sheepishly kept to the far corner of the bar following his ‘incident’.
Jay was pissed. Everyone could see that. It took a lot to rile Jay. Sure, he went on the odd vendetta against Hymenoptera, or whomsoever happened to delete his Crawl of Duty save files on his Xbox. (And don’t even get him started on the paintwork on his old ship, the Phoenix…god he missed that ship. It’s immaculate black paintwork. The detailing. The sound of it’s engines. The way the exhaust would purr when….)

Where was I…

The STCP had crossed the ultimate line. They’d messed with people he personally cared about. Katrina, her…their son, and now Cass. Not to mention, destroying the archiver ship and potentially kicking off a holy war with the vastly more advanced race. Gods or no, as far as they were aware the Dwarfers had destroyed their flagship. It’s possible that they’d see this as something that their ‘gods’ had a reason for. God works in mysterious ways kind of smeg, but history had seen people rebel against their ‘gods’ in the past and this could easily be one of those times. They had to wait and see.

“As long as they’re active…” Jay snarled, cutting right to the chase. “We’re all in danger. We’ve seen how easily they can send agents here, and now that they know we’re here…thank you Phil…it won’t stop with Hoshi’s squad. And, it’s fair to say that not all the agents will be as easily convinced to help us as these guys…”

Everyone murmered presumably in agreement.

“Come on! Is that all you can muster….these guys may have just dragged us into a war we can’t possibly win…not to mention they’ve got my son… and taken one of our own.”

“I get all that Jay…” Solvay said, speaking up “But…they exist outside of time, how the hell do you propose we take the fight to them?!”
“With the time fridge…” Phil said “I reckon I can modify to send us all there…and set a remote retrieval…”

“Undetected? Are you mental, theres no WAY we could get in without them knowing about it…”

“Phil” Jay said “You managed to mask our time jumps when we left STCP HQ…can you do the same getting back in….with our tech?”
“Possibly. Though I have no way of knowing what changes they’ve made to their security, even since Hoshi’s guys left…you can bet since Ishani went back they’ve improved it again…”

“I might be able to help with that…” came a voice from the door.

“Cass?!” Jay exclaimed “But you…”

“Yeah, I don’t know why…but they let me go. I’ve got an idea of the kind of security their director might utilise…I’m fairly sure I could hack it…so long as I can have access to the Time Fridge.”

Phil looked at Jay, who nodded back. “Sure…” Phil said “But…don’t eat the kebab that’s in there ok?”

“One more thing you should all know…” Cass said “I had the opportunity to find out a little about who actually runs the place…the person at the top…is Queen Brittany…”

“Brittany?” Jay, Phil and the other enforcers spluttered at once “But she….”
“I know…temporal dead zones, major threat and all that, I’m afraid you’ve been duped. Needless to say, she’s probably just as dangerous as you were led to believe”

“Alright…” Jay said “So who’s with me?”

“….not me…” Seymour said “and I won’t sit back and allow any of you to do this! I will NOT take up arms against her majesty!”

“What?” Jay snapped “You want to be on the run forever? Never knowing when the enforcers will come for us?”
“That, Mr Chrysler was YOUR doing. Don’t think I won’t turn you over to them given the chance…”
“…and what about Max?” Katrina piped “You’re a father Seymour! What if it was Alota?”
“I LOST my daughter!” Seymour snapped “I may never see her again! And yes, I’d do anything to get her back, but your son has been taken through no-ones fault but Mr Chryslers, her majesty will have good reasons for what she has done!”
“Seymour, Brittany is evil” Jay said “She is one of the most dangerous people in the universe…ever since she came back from the dead, she’s been nothing but a menace…”
“And yet, YOU worked for her…you all did!” he gestured to the other enforcers and Phil as he said this.
“Unknowingly. Now get out of my way…”
“NO!” Seymour yelled, grabbing a gun off Davies belt and aiming it at Jay. “It is my duty to protect her majesty! No-one, is going anywhere!”
