What an evening

JP with Redsword and Cindy
(Conners Minon night)

Courtney had let where Conner would take her dinner tonight as a surprise but she had asked how she should dress. He had responded with a basic "Dress nicely." That, at least, gave her a general idea.

She had searched in her closet for something that would work and grinned slightly when she spotted the right outfit.

Among the school uniforms, the dressier pants outfits, the nicer shirts to go with jeans there lived, unknown to most, just a few dresses and skirts and the like. She mostly had them because her mom insisted that she have just a few things like this.

"You never know when you might need them," Her mom would say.

So, to make her mom happy and because it was a small compromise to also get the clothes she preferred, she would relent a buy a few such items. Lately, however, the dresses and skirts hadn't seemed so bad. Not that she'd ever be the girl that, outside the school uniform, wore skirts or dresses every day but she was more seeing the reason why it was good to have at least a few of those outfits. Besides, her actually surprising Conner didn't happen that often, any longer, and so when given the chance she figured she should take it.

So she pulled out the blue dress and found a pair of short heels that would work with the dress. She got ready. Got dressed then put on a nice jacket and headed downstairs to where she was supposed to meet Conner.

Conner walked down the steps to the entry hall and walk over to the stairs of the girl's dorms. the monitor sitting there looked over Conner but did not say anything. A lot was running through Conner's head all the stuff that had been happing with the four girls that had won and their time with him. He thought to himself that he could relax tonight be himself and not worry about trying to balance Kaylee or Blossom. he had been thinking a lot about Blossom wondering if it would work out with her He felt it would be so easy to take advantage of her. It worried him some. He would be too much for her.

He heard someone walking down the steps of the girl's dorm. he looked up to see Courtney walking down in a blue dress. She might be a good friend but that dress made her look hot. The dress accented her curves all in the right ways. It made his pulse jump some she might be one of his best friends. But Conner was still a guy.

Conner tried to say something but nothing came out. He cleared his throat and took a breath regaining his composure. "You look amazing Courtney. wow, I did not think I deserve this. " sounding almost in shock said, Conner.

"Thanks" Courtney smiled at his reaction, "Oh, it worked. I can't surprise you with much, any longer, you know. But if it's too much for you I can always change back into jeans." She joked.

"By the way, you don't look so bad yourself." She was complimenting him, in that way friends do. But he really did look good.

"I think the only way you could surprise me now is if you showed up in lingerie. But please don't. I don't think my heart could take it." He said with a grin. He put out his arm for her to hold on to. "So you ready I have a nice place lined up for us tonight," He said as they walked to his car.

She breathed a laugh, "Yeah, I think I won't do that." Courtney took his arm. "Ready," She responded and walked with him to his car.

They walk up to his mustang it seemed extra shiny and clean. He walked around and opened the door for her helping her in. Something caught Conner's eye as he walk back he could see several girls looking out their windows. and one Nancy trying to be sneaky with her camera taking pictures of them. Conner smiled as waved at her. Nancy just disappeared behind the curtain.

Conner got in and started the car it roared to life. He started to drive "just as a warning Just saw Nancy with a camera taking pitchers. I am sure we will hear something soon," he said almost laughing. "I hope this does not mess with you and Matt. whatever Nancy says or Does," said Conner.

Courtney was thinking some of the girls might be watching, as it's what they did. She hadn't noticed Nancy.

Courtney got into Conner's and they started to go. She shook her head at what he said about Nancy. "I'm sure we will." Nancy would have a field day she was sure. As for Matt, "No, Matt has known both of us for years. He knows what kind of friendship we have and he's fine with it. He'll understand it's just Nancy being Nancy. Besides, if he was the kind of guy who was jealous of our friendship; I'm pretty sure we wouldn't last long."

Courtney could never understand those girls that chose guys over friendships and she didn't much understand jealously when there was no need for it.

Conner just thought on what she had said "Matt is a good guy and If I thought he was not I would have not encouraged you two." Then he wondered if he should have said that. Diving they took their time getting to the Japanese stake house. he pulled up and park. "this is the place I like to go when I want a nice dinner and have fun too. funny I think you're the first girl I have brought here." he says.

Courtney glanced over at Conner as he spoke, "I know." It didn't bother her that he made his feelings on Matt known. She also knew, if he had thought, for some reason Matt hadn't been a good guy for her she figured Conner would have let her know that, too.

When they pulled into the parking lot Courtney smiled as she saw where they were. She had mentioned wanting to go here at some point. "It looks nice. Did you also happen to remember me mentioning wanting to come to one of these places?" She wouldn't be upset if he hadn't recalled that. She might have mentioned it once or something. As for being the first girl, he's taken here. "Well, then I'm honored." Actually, she kind of was because that seemed like a rare privilege with him.

Conner gave a crafty grin. "remember? maybe, maybe not." he said as he got out he walked over to her door and opened it for her. He held out his hand for her "shall we?" he asked.

Courtney shook her head slightly and smiled at his nonanswer. She accepted his hand and got out of the car, walking with him inside the restaurant.

Upon entering a restaurant, customers are greeted with the expression "irasshaimase" meaning "welcome, please come in". The waitress will ask you how many people are in your party and then lead you to your table.

the restaurant has Western-style tables and chairs. Also, they see some low traditional tables with cushions to sit on the floor are also common and referred to as zashiki. this restaurant features both styles.

They walk up to the hostess. "irasshaimase" she says plightly. "he answered two." She guided them to a U-shaped table. She sat them and ask what they wanted to drink and gave them a menu. when she left he looked over to Courtney "any questions on this food?" he asked.

As Courtney looked over the menu for she noticed other people being seated as well. Did she have questions? "Yes, I...." Stopping mid-sentence as someone caught her eye.

She still seemed surprised as she nodded to the area by the hostess; to get Conner to look over there. "What are the odds?"

Kaylee's day had gone well. Zander, as her minon for the day, had been as one might expect. Nice. Helpful. He ever helped her with a computer problem.

She had let him go through, before dinner, because she had plans with her brother. So right now she was getting changed for her night out.

Matt hadn't told her where they were going but had given an idea of how she should dress so she slipped into her black dress, 2-inch heels and gave herself a once over. Yes, this should be good. She thought. Once she was done getting ready she headed downstairs.

Matt had thought his sister might need some time away from the school. He had a feeling that what was going on with Conner might have been bothering her more than she let on. He also wanted to take her someplace new. Of course, Kaylee had experienced many types of restaurants. So finding one she hadn't was a little tricky but Matt remembered there was a type of restaurant she wanted to go to that she hadn't.

He got himself ready and headed to the waiting area in the girl's dorm. In reality, he had missed Conner and Courtney in just moments but it was long enough to not see them.
Matt and Kaylee made their way to his truck. He had noticed some girls, including Nancy looking out the window but the girls and Nancy must have seen it was a brother and sister and seem to back away from the windows, apparently uninterested in Matt and Kaylee.

He opened the door for his sister and helped her into the truck. It took a little while but they made it to the restaurant.

"I thought you might want to try one of these places." He said.

Kaylee smiled, "You knew, is more like it. This is great."

Matt helped his sister out of the truck and the two walked in; before they were even greeted by the hostess Matt spotted Courtney and then Conner. He knew the two were going to dinner tonight and he had been fine with it but hadn't known they were coming here.

Kaylee had been glancing around but at the moment was standing behind someone who was ahead of them in line. Of course, that person had blocked Kaylee's view of Conner and Courtney but she did notice her brother's surprise.

"What?" Kaylee inquired

The couple in front of them were seated. So, Kaylee could now see what her brother who looking at. She shook her head.

"Quelle coïncidence" (What a coincidence.) She commented.
