A Clue Forward

"I've got it," Zander exclaimed.

Dawn, Riley, April, and the parents of the twins and Doug, Morgana and Joesphine Jefferson, had gathered in the moms' hotel suite to have breakfast and try to figure out where Doug might have gone.

The first step was to try to determine where Doug had been spending all his money. Zander had been working on this for a while now but a few transactions had popped up, since last night, that led the boy to one conclusion.

"I think he's illegally gambling." Zander explained.

His older brother clearly didn't do drugs, random resting was common in high school sports and Doug wouldn't have risked his status that came with a place on the team. The boy hadn't bought a lot of stuff recently. He clearly hadn't been spending the money on Mel, so that combined with large amounts of money taken out, led to one conclusion.

"Where would he be gambling?" April, who had little knowledge of such things, asked.

"There are illegal gambling dens all over the country." Joesphine explained. "We need to discuss this with the police."

Morgana shook her head, "He's gotten so out of control."

Joesphine put an arm around her wife. "We'll get through this."

The twins looked at each other, they had never seen their moms this upset. Riley squeezed Zander's hand. Dawn sat down and April joined her, intertwining her arm with the other girls. Nothing else needed to be said, Riley and April were there for the family, no matter what.
