The howdah crested the distant horizon, glittering in the sunlight glinting off 1000 dusty legionary shields. The Dwarfers looked on with a mixture of horror, fear and glee, depending on your level of bloodlust. Blood soaked into the sand from the slowly dying first wave, the maimed and the wounded moaning as they died. Jaxx dripped with the blood of the Romans that he had skinned alive as he turned to the crashed crate hosting the small rebellion.

"Yo. *hiss * dudes *crshh*. Even my *hiss* training isn't that *crsh* good." The entire effect, Darth Vader voice, hissing breath sounds and dripping blood, an eerie image of the demented shark beast of the Jaxx that was.

"I agree. It's time to move out." Jay banged on the hull of the ship with then butt of his rifle. "Come on ladies. Time to go." He cast his eye around at the terrified looking Dwarfers, the civilians, the support staff of the Dwarf. None of them trained for combat.

"What about Pilate?" Cass asked, a healthy smear of blood or two down her nano suit. She kicked a highly powered plasma lance out of the way as she disembarked the ship and approached.

"We can blow the ship from a distance, hopefully it'll catch him too." Katrina suggested, shifting her weight to avoid a patch of sand that had been super heated by plasma and turned to glass.

"Not a risk we can take." Jay said simply, casting his eye to the horizon and the approaching doom.

"As much as I dislike the taking of life. I agree there can be no mistakes in taking out this simulant. The damage that could be done to the timeline is astronomical. I believe some crew are already experiencing the effects of timeline dispersal as we speak." Kenneth added. Surely enough, Jade, Evelina, Jamie and a few others were beginning to look paler, slightly more translucent. The people with more convoluted timelines seemed fine so far.

"I don't want to... Stop existing." Evelina said, a sad look on her face as she fumbled for the words to voice what would happen.

"It's ok Eve babe *hiss*. I'll *crssh* protect you." Jaxx instantly said.

"Oh, will you can it Scutter boy, now isn't the time for fucking romantic poetry." Cass snapped at the mech. She wheeled on Jay. "You suicidal idiot. I wont let you." She glared daggers at him.

"WE. Wont let you." Katrina added pointedly, glaring equally at Jay and Cass.

"I'm not... You don't think that I?..." He trailed off and his bravado seemed to deflate slightly under the weight of the two women.

"With your track record Captain Chrysler. It's not hard to work out what you are thinking. Whilst running in there to draw Pilate away from us is a noble sacrifice. It's not a good plan." Jade said, raising an eyebrow at Jay, wondering how he thought he could have got away with it.

"After all, if you were to die in there, how would you 'ascend to the stars'?" Jacky smirked.

"Mr Chrysler. You are forgetting the ace in the hole." Artie said with a wicked grin on his face, several spare grenades stuck in his belt.

"That's what I was going to say! Gees! You guys have no faith in me at all do you?" Jay grumbled a sour look on his face and missing the irony in his statement given the situation. Several of the women in Jay's harem blushed and mumbled apologies, Cass just looked on stubbornly and glowered at him, as if daring him to try anything stupid.
