Snickt

Jade shook her head as the cylinders were handed out. At the moment, all she could think about was her arm, and she doubted that a severed arm would be very effective in combat, soggy end or not.

Jade looked at Cass as she brushed a short strand of hair back into place and smiled. Sometimes, Cass didn’t realise how much authority and respect she had from the rest of the crew. She smiled wryly, actually, could it be called crew now? Most of the people here were civilians or not from the Dwarf, it was a sad state of affairs really. She missed the days before stasis, lots of people, easy to get lost in a crowd.

All of the new people would be learning that this was who Cass was, the authority figure of the little group. Jade only hoped that Cass didn’t realise, because as soon as the woman did she’d have a breakdown.

“You guys are all scientists, why can’t we just detach the stasis pods with food in and have you program them to manoeuvre to our own cargo bays on the Dwarf? I mean, all the Dwarf stasis pods can be detached like life pods if needed, so these must be able to do the same right?” Jade asked, looking around as various snikt sounds echoed around the beach.

“Why can’t you, like, just turn off all of the heinous traps that Tara set? The people on this beach have to be, like, the smartest people left in the universe or something.” Jaxx said, scratching his head and looking at the scientists around him.

“It’s a fair point. What do you think guys?” Jade said, adding her own gaze to the newer people, and the existing familiar science bodies.
