Allow me to forget to introduce myself

Caligari stood up abruptly and turned to look out upon the landscape in the direction the rogue had indicated, but it was too late; their pursuers were already upon them and would have them surrounded directly. No no no! This was not how she’d foreseen this night progressing. An arrow thudded into the ground below and the party’s surrender was called for. She had to act fast and that tended to get dicey around strangers. Emerging from the dark at the same time as those who meant the party harmed could not be helped. She kicked her cloak over the edge of the boulder and called down to the party below who were already stirring to defend themselves.

“Twenty years I’ve waited for this night to come. You seek the aid of dark magic and I answer.” She reeled on her feet slightly like a drunkard and gave them all a glassy stare. “Their numbers are….numerous. Yours are few. Allow me to even the odds. Preparations have been laid out at your very feet, but you must stand nearer the fire.” Well they hadn’t shot her full of arrows yet so that was a good sign. She quickly scurried down this face of the rock which was more of a controlled slide and rough jump at the end to the ground. She held her hands above her head in mock surrender and let her fingers toy with the beads of her headdress.

“Take your chances with a stranger offering her aid or square off against a known enemy and outnumbered at that.” She suddenly leant forward and vomited, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. “Don’t step in that, I need it. What’s it to be? The longer you wait the less assistance I can offer.”
