Sands Shifting

Justin: Wasn't sure when we were going to get a chance to hang out again. I was beginning to think I might have to wait till it was dark again. Think you can squeeze it into your busy schedule?

"Oh, I think I can make some time for you." Kyle smiled. "I'll get more filming in later." He glanced around for a moment. "So, did you have any plans for the afternoon? After this is done." Meaning helping out. Kyle didn't really have a plan for later so he was curious as to what Justin's was.

Justin shook his head no before he replied. He was glad that Kyle wanted to meet again. By spending more time together the odds of a better friendship blossoming were in his favor.

Justin: Nothing planned, just winging it for now. Should we meet up after the show is over?

"That sounds good. We can meet up at the bonfire." Kyle responded. "You'll probably get to see me surf this afternoon." Just a little nugget if the other boy was interested in taking it and watching Kyle surf.

"Well, I should go finish filming this." Gesturing to the stuff going on around them. "It looks like some people are starting to finish up and a need just a little more footage. I'll see you later."

Jocelyn looked up at Rose through a pair of brown gradient aviator sunglasses. The looked clearly borrowed. "I don't know that you really need much." she said. "I mean you can join me if you want. All we'd really need would be a solo cup or two to make the smaller parts. I don't think we'd be able to do one of those fancy ones I've seen on the internet that look like an like a model of the real thing in sand. Just enjoying something I didn't get to do as a kid." Jocelyn said. "I didn't live anywhere near a beach."

Jocelyn, turned back to working on the sandcastle she'd started. Not ignoring the girl talking to her. She was just a bit awkward after she rambled.

Rose nodded. "A solo cup? That's a good idea. I'll be right back." She laid out her beach blanket and then went over to the food area and asked some of the works for some red solo cups, they handed her a small stack and she came back with them. Sitting down next to the other girl she put the pile of red solo cups next to them. "I think they might have given me too many." She shrugged.

"I think those fancy ones have special kits for them but you're right this should work." Rose started digging in the sand with on of the cups. "Oh, where are you from?" She guessed middle of the country by Jocelyn's comment but that was a big place.

Sam had met back up with Heath, the two gave each other a small kiss.

"Did you see Lance talking to Rose?" Sam asked Heath.

"I did." Heath nodded.

"It seems like Rose handled it on her own." A small smile came to Sam's face. "Is it weird I feel ...proud of her?"

"No. It's a good thing she's learning to stand up for herself. I mean she still needs you and JD looking out for her but every little bit is good thing." Heath knew about the accident but he didn't know the other specifics as to why Sam was so protective of Rose. He figured it was between them, for now, and that was fine.

Sam looked out to where Rose was sitting with someone and it looked like building a sandcastle. "Well, I'm glad even if it is a little at a time."

"She's learning from the best.' Heath grinned.

Kaylee had been up on the stage finalizing and had looked out to see Matt and Courtney not speaking to each other. What could have possibly happened between the motorcycle this morning and now? The girl didn't know but something must have.

She also spotted Conner talking to Blossom and that made her curious, as well. She thought back to the time spent with Conner at the skateboard park earlier after they spied on Courtney and Matt. The two had talked about things and there had definitely been some mild flirting back and forth. She liked him, truth be told, she liked him back when they had met when she was in 7th grade but that had been a kid's, sort of, crush on her older brother's friend. This wasn't the same.

Kaylee was opened minded enough to be ok with Conner wanting to see both of them and figuring it out but then again she didn't know for sure he liked Blossom; it wasn't like she could hear their conversation nor would she have eavesdropped on it even if she could have but it did make her wonder what was going on. She certainly wasn't naive enough to think that she might be the only girl that he liked. So, she'd be ok with it either way but she just wanted to know what he was thinking.
