What's Going On

Conner looked over to JD who was starting at Rose. Conner positioned the brace to the prop and clamped it down, then looked up. He looked over to Rose Lance was talking to her. JD looked frustrated but did not look like he was going over to start trouble JD was just keeping a close eye on Lance. like a tiger watching his prey. Conner shook his head and laugh some. ....

JD had been watching Rose all morning. All he could think about was holding her in his arms and kissing her. He fantasized about how that kiss would go. He saw lance try to be covert walking and talking to Rose. JD looked over to Elena who was watching too. He looked over now and then as Rose and Lance talked he could not hear exactly what was said but Roses's face show self-control. JD waited for Lance to leave He walked over to Rose "hay good looking, how is it going?" he asked with a comforting smile. "I saw Lance was over here. Are you good?" he asked.

Rose gave JD a smile at his compliment but it faded when he mentioned Lance. "Yes, I suppose. It was, kind of, weird." She glanced over and saw Lance and Elena talking and then turned her attention back towards JD. "First he acted like he was doing me a favor by talking to me. Then he tried to act all nice and invited me to hang out with his group; the elite group with Sam. Then he made some mean comments about the scholarship kids. I told him I wouldn't hang with them without you and Sam wouldn't without Heath and told him he couldn't talk about my friends like that. " She sighed. "I don't even think he understands why it's a problem he said those things. " She glanced over to Lance and Elena, again. "I don't know. Would it be weird if I said I think he's up to something or maybe he and Elena are?" She didn't want to seem paranoid but that encounter with Lance just seemed strange.

Melissa figured that, at least, some of Doug's spies were around so she mostly just helped out with some of the cheerleaders. Her phone chimed, it was Doug and she had to read the text twice and try not to smile, a little. "I have to go talk to Ms. Kopper. I'll be right back." She told the girl that she was working with.

It took not long to find Ms. Kopper. The music teacher, as it turned out, was talking to someone familiar. Someone, she thought, would find her news, maybe a little amusing, if he was even still talking to her after last night.

"What can I do for you, Melissa?" Ms. Kopper asked.

"Doug just texted me. He wanted me to let you know that he's stuck with a flat tire. They are waiting on Triple A." Melissa responded.

"Thank you, Melissa. I look forward to both of your performances tonight." Ms. Kopper added. "I think I'm needed over there." The woman started towards where the sound system was being tested.

Melissa stood there for a moment with the boy, not knowing what to say but then she said. "Do you think it's karma? The flat tire, that is?" She wanted to see if they were still on, semi solid ground.

Dawn was done with her fitting and had gone back out to see what else she could help with and she had been asked to go over and walk to her spots on the stage for the opening number so they students working on those could get them correct. As it turned out one of those students was April.

Dawn went to her marks, they tracked the correct lighting for the different parts of it and April went up by Dawn to make sure it was correct but didn't say anything. There was a tension between the two and Dawn hadn't wanted that.

Dawn spoke up, quietly so the conversation could remain between the two of them. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have reacted like that. You deserve the time to figure things out. I can give you that but I still want to be your friend."

April sighed. "Maybe, I could have said something sooner. And yes, of course, we can still be friends."

Dawn smiled. "Great. Besides, makes the whole roommate thing a little easier." She joked.

April breathed a laugh. "I suppose it would."

Zander saw this and when he felt it was safe went up to the two girls. "Eveything OK?"

"Yes," Dawn said. "We're good."

With that the three of them went back to work.

Matt delivered a few boxes to the area where Courtney was working. He stood there for a moment but when Courtney looked up the two didn't say a word to each other. Matt sighed and went back to moving the boxes.
