Brain Freeze

Blossom watched as Kyle and Justin were talking. She didn't want to be a third wheel so she gave them some space. Then Kaylee approached Blossom.

Kyle saw Justin approach and he talked with him for a little while before saying. "Hey, you good with Dawn joining us to learn to surf? I sort of promised her like a week ago and I'd feel bad backing out on her now."

Justin looked at Kyle and smiled as he nodded. He was glad to spend time with Kyle again even if it wasn't just the two of them. Well since it was in broad daylight and in front a large crowd, he figured it would be better to play it cool till the sun went down. From his past experiences, he found that flaunting his lifestyle in front of others had a tendency to work against him. Its not that he had trust issues with others, but more or less he didn't enjoy the witless wonders who felt they needed to voice their selfish and useless opinions like they were the Kings and Queens of the World. So after sizing up Kyle he spoke up.

Justin: Sure the more the merrier. I'll go last so I can see your teaching style.

Of course, Dawn was also noticing Kyle and Justin. Actually, looking down the beach she saw, not only Kyle and Justin but JD and Rose, Matt and Courtney, and then there was Kaylee and Blossom who she didn't really know whether Kaylee would be teaching Blossom or not though she was certain the last weren't in the same house as the others. She was feeling though like maybe it would be cutting into Kyle and Justin's time together. So, she started looking for an out, a way she could still learn and not be a third wheel and not make Kyle feel bad.

Blossom then worked up some courage to talk to Kaylee. She was hoping to get a long like she did with Ashley and some of the other cheer squad. Sadly some of the snobby cheer squad ruined it a bit for her since they looked down on her without even talking to her ever. Blossom then spoke up.

Blossom: Hello Kaylee. Have you ever surfed before? I am so nervous.

"Oh, I've been surfing since before I can remember. I think it's almost a requirement of living in California your whole life. If not surfing, then skateboarding or well outdoors stuff in general. We didn't live at the beach but spent a lot of weekends there." She paused. "Where are you from? Sorry, if you've been asked that like 10,000 times already." Obviously, exaggerating for emphasis. "I think if not so many people knew my brother I'd be asked that question a lot as well." Usually, the fact that Kaylee spoke French in the way she did threw people off and they would think she was from Canada or something but getting to know her made them more away she was from California.

Blossom was amazed by Kaylee's experiences at such an young age. Blossom felt a little intimidated since her biggest adventure was coming to this school. Aside from that it was cow tipping and swimming at the local lake. Back home she was not very popular and aside from cheerleading she was just another face in the small crowd at her small town.

Blossom: Ummmm. Dot Map, Montana. This is my first time at a beach......well its my first time away from home as well.

=========================================

After enjoying her quality time with Jack, Ashley took his hand and led him to the snow cone truck and helped themselves to a snow cone. Ashley got the flavor known as “Tiger's Blood” which is a delightful combination of watermelon, strawberry, and coconut. It has a bright red color, but its similarities to blood end there. Jack on the other hand got bubblegum flavor. Of course Ashley insisted on getting a bit of his snow cone, which made him put on a grumpy expression again. Then they made their way to where the others were learning to surf. Then they noticed a group of students.

They finished their walk as they returned. Lance was asked to play some beach games. He thought it a good time to get some of the rich kids together to play against the Scholarship kids. Elena kissed him and told him to go She was going to find a few friends and see what they were doing.

Ashley spoke up to Jack as she nibbled her snow cone.

Ashley: Looks like the snobs are up to no good again.

Jack: Don't care.

Ashley: What if they call you out?

Jack: They won't. Why would they want to compete against someone better than them on purpose? They just want to look tough picking on the weaker kids.

Ashley: True.

Ashley then looked at Jack with wicked smile.

Jack flinched as he saw her devilish smile and spoke up quickly.

Jack: Not happening Ash. I got nothing to gain dealing with those jerks.

Ashley: What about revenge for the yogurt?

Jack: Not interested.

Ashley: Oh please Jack. Just cause you got back at them already doesn't mean its over.

Jack: I don't know what you are talking about.

Ashley: Oh please Jack you are not the type to let revenge go like its nothing. You are still trying to get back at me for something that happened four years ago. You act like I don't know you.

Jack: Yeah well whatever.

Ashley: Did you know it is a crime to pull a fire alarm?

Jack: So is Stalking.

Ashley: So you have zero interest in some friendly competition?

Jack shook his head no.

Courtney noticed the rich kids and some of the scholarship kids (and their friends) gathering for what looked like the start of a game. She turned to Matt and nodded towards the groups forming down the beach. "Well, that's better than fights breaking out."

Ashely: Oh and I was so looking forward to cheering my man on.

Ashley did a small bounce to jiggle her chest in front of Jack and cause him to snarf on his snow cone as she giggled. Poor Jack had ice up his nose and a brain freeze at this point.

Ashley: Well I tell you what....

Jack: What?

Ashley: If an opportunity comes up to put them in their place I want you to help me get my revenge.

Jack: What's in it for me?

Ashley: I will owe you one.

Jack: Yeah right.

Ashley: I am being serious Jack, but we can't make it obvious. Will you do me a solid?

Ashely gave him a polite smile this time. Jack didn't trust Ashley but having her owe him was a tempting offer. He had a lot of things he could use that IOU with and a twisted grin came across his face as he envisioned all the opportunities.

Jack: I'll consider it.

Ashley: Even with that sick smile on your face? You kinda resemble the Joker you know?

Jack ignored her as he enjoyed his snow cone while pondering his thoughts.
